How the Brewers’ power numbers compare to last season

Despite losing home run leader Willy Adames in the offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers still have respectable power numbers in 2025.

The Milwaukee Brewers had an excellent offense during the 2024 regular season, but they weren’t particularly prolific in the power department. Despite being the seventh best offense in baseball and fourth best in the National League with 777 runs scored, Milwaukee was slightly below average in home runs with 177. Even still, because the homers were concentrated to a few big bats in the middle of the Brewers' order, not much was made of their lack of power, like it has been this year.

Shortstop Willy Adames was the team leader in both home runs (32) and RBIs (112) in 2024. 32 home runs walking out the door in free agency was a scary thought for a Brewers team that could ill afford to lose much in the power department, and as a result, the team's power has been called into question all season long. However, a handful of bats have quietly taken a big step forward in the power department in 2025 and helped Milwaukee’s offensive production remain steady.

The Brewers are right on pace with their 2024 power numbers

With 149 home runs in 138 games played, the Brewers are currently pacing to finish the 2025 season with 175 home runs. That's just two homers less than they hit in 2024, despite losing Adames to free agency and Rhys Hoskins to an injury for nearly two months of the season.

Milwaukee is currently 19th in baseball in home runs, but they have the best offense in the National League, scoring 703 runs this season. That puts them on pace to score 825 runs by the time the season ends, which would blow away the 2024 offense.

Much of this is due to players not known for their power taking a big step forward in that area.

Brice Turang's previous single-season career high was seven home runs. He has 16 before the end of August this season. Sal Frelick has 10 home runs on the year, and he came into the season with five career home runs between 2023 and 2024 combined.

Christian Yelich has also rediscovered his power that helped him win an MVP award in 2018 and blast 44 home runs in 2019. Yelich did not have more than 19 home runs in any single season from 2020-2024, but his 27 home runs and 92 RBI in 2025 have provided a refreshing boost to Milwaukee's lineup.

Nine (9) home runs from Andrew Vaughn in 42 games with the club are also notable.

With every game that passes and every home run that gets hit, the Brewers are proving why they didn't need to spend $182 million to retain Willy Adames. They have plenty of power within the organization, and their offense has stepped up without him.
