No lights are too bright for Jackson Chourio. The Milwaukee Brewers' 22-year-old outfielder continues to produce when it matters most, with last night's unbelievable ninth-inning walk-off single against Mason Miller and the San Diego Padres being the latest example of Chourio's postseason prowess.
Chourio has risen to the occasion in each of his three trips to the postseason. In 2024, his rookie season, Chourio crushed two game-tying homers when the Brewers were facing elimination in Game 2 of their NL Wild Card Series matchup against the New York Mets. A year later, Chourio added two more playoff homers during the Brewers' run to the National League Championship Series.
Already this year, just two games into the Brewers' 2026 postseason run, Chourio has slugged a key two-run homer to open his team's scoring in Game 1 on Saturday night and produced one of the biggest playoff hits in franchise history to steal Game 2 from the Padres.
Collectively, Chourio's incredible performance in October has already produced 15 RBI, which is second only to Ryan Braun's 16 postseason RBI for the most in franchise history. However, Chourio isn't just chasing franchise history with his consistent knack for coming up clutch in the postseason; he's on the doorstep of MLB history as well. As seen in the graphic below, Chourio is just two RBI away from matching Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer Andruw Jones' record for the most postseason RBI before turning 23 years old. The difference in games played, however, offers necessary context to Chourio's greatness.

Jackson Chourio's youth makes his incredible postseason production that much more impressive
14 games. That's all Chourio has needed to come within two of Jones' record for the most postseason RBI before turning 23. It took Jones 45 postseason games to reach 17 RBI. It's a testament not only to Chourio's incredible talent but also his poise in big moments and his maturity as a baseball player.
At just 22 years old, Chourio is already the player the Brewers want at the plate in the biggest moments, knowing he gives them the best chance at success. Just three years into his big league career, Chourio is already so comfortable that a ninth-inning matchup against the best closer in the league doesn't intimidate him; it excites him.
Chourio will play at least three more postseason games (hopefully more) before turning 23 years old, and at the pace he's on, Jones' record certainly doesn't feel safe. But beyond records, Chourio's incredible start to his career with the Brewers and his ability to come through in the big moments bodes well for the seven seasons still remaining on the long-term contract he signed with Milwaukee back before the 2024 season.
In agreeing to that contract, the Brewers didn't just lock up one of the top talents in the game at a reasonable cost for the next decade; they signed a future postseason hero and the franchise's Mr. October before he even saw a pitch in the big leagues. Three seasons later, it already looks like one of the best decisions in the history of the franchise.
