For the Milwaukee Brewers, everything in 2025 starts with how the team's internal options perform during camp. With the offseason winding down and with very obviously little money to spend, the group that the Brewers are bringing to camp this week are going to be who they roll with unless they strike a surprising trade during spring training.

The good news is that Milwaukee's position player group looks pretty strong despite losing Willy Adames with a young core of Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang, Sal Frelick, William Contreras, and others supplemented by the ever dangerous veteran Christian Yelich and the hopefully dangerous Rhys Hoskins. The pitching staff, however, is another matter entirely.

With the news that Brandon Woodruff won't 100% when spring training starts and may not be ready for Opening Day, the Brewers are going to rely on Freddy Peralta to be the ace of the startin pitching staff early on. While Peralta is good, that he is the best option out of camp does not feel amazing. The bullpen has similar depth questions after multiple free agent departures and the Devin Williams trade.

One prospect that is coming to spring training that could help one (or possibly both) of these issues is Jacob Misiorowski who just got some very high praise heading into camp from MLB's David Adler.

MLB expert thinks Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski is one of the pitchers everyone should watch in spring training

It is hard to argue with Adler's logic in his "12 must-watch pitchers" piece as Misiorowski is one of the most exciting young pitchers in baseball. Featuring a fastball that reaches 100+ mph and a power slider that dominates hitters, Misiorowski has the sort of stuff that makes him capable of just about anything on the mound.

The real question right now is whether or not Misiorowski's command will let him start or if he will be pressed into service as a high leverage bullpen arm. Milwaukee's rotation is the most in need of the help, but it isn't like the bullpen couldn't use a boost and having both Misiorowski and Aaron Ashby late in games could be a lot of fun.

Whether Misiorowski is allowed to continue as a starter or if he makes the full-time switch to relief almost doesn't matter. A guy with this level of stuff has a chance of excelling in either role. Given that Misiorowski already has a good amount of experience in the high minors, Brewers fans may get the chance to see what he is capable with a real chance in the majors sooner rather than later.
