When MLB organizations have stacked farm systems, chock-full of prospects who are expected to be the next wave of All-Stars, the biggest fear is that these players won't pan out in the way teams or fans expect them to. Prospects are by no means guaranteed to find success at the major league level regardless of how much they impress at the minor league level, which is why the team with the best farm system this year doesn't always become the best team in baseball shortly thereafter.

However, when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers, an organization touted not only for their ability to acquire talent, but also develop young players, the success rate on their recent top prospects appears to be higher than most other organizations. Not only do the Brewers sport a roster that includes a number of former top prospects like Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, and Brice Turang, but two of Milwaukee's most recent highly publicized prospects are already living up to their hype despite just beginning their respective MLB careers.

Outfielder Jackson Chourio and starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski were two of the Brewers' most talked-about prospects in recent memory. Chourio rose to the top of prospect rankings lists as one of the youngest players in the minor leagues, and Miz dominated minor league opponents with his unicorn fastball. As a result, their eventual MLB debuts were two of the most anticipated events in recent Brewers history; Chourio's came on Opening Day of the 2024 season, and Miz's was just over one year ago.

While that kind of hype around a young player who has yet to prove themselves at the major league level certainly puts an incredible amount of pressure on the prospect to perform from the start of their MLB career, Chourio and Miz are already proving that the attention they garnered prior to their debuts was justified. While the two young big-leaguers' performance through the early part of their MLB careers is enough evidence to prove they've lived up to the hype, being named Co-NL Players of the Week earlier today further substantiates the claim that both prospects have lived up to the hype.

Jacob Misiorowski and Jackson Chourio named Co-NL Players of the Week after eye-popping performances

What's better than one Player of the Week? Two Players of the Week. Earlier today, MLB announced that Chourio and Miz are both taking home an NL Player of the Week Award after their incredible performances over the last seven days.

Miz's week included just one start, but it was one of the best outings in franchise history. Facing the star-studded Phillies, Milwaukee's flame-throwing ace tossed a "Maddux," which is a complete game shutout with less than 100 pitches. However, what made Miz's performance even more impressive is that he struck out an unbelievable 15 batters -- the most ever in a Maddux. Misiorowski's lone blemish in the start was a single off the bat of Kyle Schwarber, which was eventually wiped out by a double-play, allowing Miz to face the minimum 27 batters in the outing. Miz, who won the NL Player of the Week Award two weeks ago as well, becomes the first Brewers pitcher since Mike Caldwell in 1978 to win two Player of the Week Awards in one season.

Meanwhile, Chourio was scorching hot at the plate throughout the week. The Brewers' budding superstar popped five homers, which included a multi-homer game against the Phillies on Saturday night. Chourio collected 10 RBI and posted an unbelievable .448 batting average. After making his season debut back on May 4, Chourio is now slashing .322/.370/.572 and is legitimately building a case for the All-Star Game despite missing the first month of the season. This is the first NL Player of the Week Award in Chourio's young career.

Already, Miz and Chourio have established themselves not only as big-leaguers but as two of the strongest young players in all of baseball. For two incredibly hyped prospects, the early-career success is especially satisfying to see.
