If you stayed up late on Tuesday night you got to witness an epic game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels. While hitting two special home runs the Brewers emerged victorious by a score of 6-3 in which a game saving home run robbery ended up being the final out recorded in this contest.
In case you missed it or just want to see them again, here's a further look at these memorable moments.
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich hit his 200th career home run
In the first inning Christian Yelich unloaded on a pitch high in the zone that wasn't even a strike. He pulled the baseball 403 feet over the right field wall for what was his 200th career home run. Up next career milestone wise for Yelich is 200 career stolen bases in which he is currently just two away.
Jackson Chourio recorded a little league home run that scored three runs
Rookie Jackson Chourio gave Milwaukee a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning when he hit a ball down the right field line and ended up racing all the way around the bases to score. Angels right fielder Jo Adell misplayed the ball at the wall and as a result this was scored a double for Chourio. It took Chourio just over 14 seconds motor around the bases and per Dominic Cotroneo this is the fastest home-to-home time in baseball this year.
Sal Frelick robbed a home run to end the game and secured a 6-3 Brewers victory over the Angels
Entering the ninth inning Milwaukee was winning by a score of 6-0. Unfortunately, relievers Elieser Hernandez and Joel Payamps both were both only able to record an out a piece before three runs scored and as a result Trevor Megill had to be brought in. Megill's only batter faced ended up being Taylor Ward and he nearly hit a game tying home run but Sal Frelick brought it back in the ball park to end the game.
The robbery had shades of Lorenzo Cain on Opening Day in 2019 when he robbed the Cardinals of a game tying home run to end the game. That was the last time the Brewers had a home run robbery to make the final out of the 9th.
The Brewers and Angels will play one more game in Anaheim. Their Wednesday night contest will start at 8:38 PM central time in which the outcome of that game will determine who is the series winner.
