The Milwaukee Brewers have already been down one closer for the season, not to mention several more weeks. Now they might be down another one for a while after a scary incident in Tuesday night's game.

After being dominated by Chicago pitching for most of the game, the Brewers finally turned the vibes around in the second game of their home series against the Cubs. Down to their last out and losing 1-0, Willy Adames scored Christian Yelich on a single to left. Admes would be thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, and the game would go to extra innings.

Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill would come in for Milwaukee in an attempt to keep the Cubs off the board and go for the win again in the bottom of the 10th. Unfortunately, it wouldn't take long for disaster to strike in the form of a scary injury to the Crew's closer.

Brewers closer Trevor Megill would end up leaving the game immediately after a scary incident on the mound.

Three pitches into the at bat of the first batter he faced, Megill would end up taking a 99.4 MPH rocket off the bat of Mike Tauchman flush to his pitching elbow. You could tell the big righty immediately knew something was wrong.

That's because even though the ball died right in front of Megill, he immediately started walking toward the Brewers bench despite the play still being live. As a result, no Milwaukee player was able to get to the ball fast enough to prevent free runner Luis Vazquez from coming around all the way from second to score.

The training staff wouldn't even spend time looking at Megill's injury on the field, instead taking him straight to the clubhouse. Brewers reliever Hoby Milner would then have to come in cold, which would go as that situation often does with the Cubs adding on to their lead. In the end, Chicago would walk away with a 6-3 injury.

Now fans await word on Megill. The 6'8" flamethrower had emerged as the temporary replacement for regular closer Devin Williams, who still isn't supposed to return until the trade deadline. If Megill is out for any length of time, there is no clear next man up in line, though some solid options are on the table.

Here's hoping that the injury isn't as serious as it first appeared. With the level of concern Megill himself first showed, though, that might be wishful thinking.
