The accolades have been rolling in for Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio ever since he made his affiliated ball debut in 2022. One of the only questions remaining was just how high he could rise up the overall prospect lists before he eventually makes his MLB debut.

Heading into the 2023 season, Chourio leads every top Brewers prospects list you can find out there, including our own. On overall MLB prospect lists, he was consistently being placed somewhere on the top 10 among prospects who had graced the list for years.

Baseball America appeared to have Chourio ranked the highest heading into 2023, ranking him as their No. 3 prospect in all of baseball. Considering who was ahead of him, it was only a matter of time before he took the top overall spot. That time has officially come.

Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio is now Baseball America's top prospect in all of baseball.

Today's news was shared by Ben Badler, a prospect writer for Baseball America.

Heading into the 2023 season, Baseball America had just two prospects ranked ahead of Chourio on their top overall prospects list. Those players were Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles and Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Both players made their respective teams' Opening Day lineups after debuting late in 2022.

Carroll was the first to graduate from Baseball America's top MLB prospects list. He has played in all seven of Arizona's games so far this season and is batting .222 and has already swiped three bags this year.

Then today, Henderson graduated from the list as well. He has played in five games this season and has started a bit slower with just two hits, though one of them is a home run, and he is at least getting on base at a 36.4% clip.

While those two prospects continue living their dream of becoming full-time MLB players, Chourio is still working his way up through the minor leagues. That's not surprising considering the top Brewers prospect only turned 19 last month.

Chourio will begin his 2023 season with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers, which is where he ended his 2022 season as well. He only played six games there, going 2-for-23 and stealing a pair of bases. He'll be looking for his first career Double-A home run here in 2023, which likely won't take long if this year looks anything like last year.

As much as it was expected for Chourio to eventually take over Baseball America's top prospect honors, it's easy to forget how wild it is that the Brewers prospect got there so quickly. The final step now is making his way to The Show.
