The Milwaukee Brewers are set to take on the Mets in the NL Wild Card round at 5:32 PM EST/4:32 PM CST and they are most certainly looking to get the playoff series monkey off their backs. Despite making the postseason in six of the past seven seasons, the Brewers haven't won a playoff series since 2017 and have only won two playoff series since their last World Series appearance in 1982. Suffice it to say that Brewers fans are longing for a deep run this go around.

To get there, they are going to have to get past a New York team that just won a banger of a game on Monday to get into the postseason at all. That is good news in the sense that New York had to play a doubleheader the day before the start of this series, but that also means the Mets have some energy and momentum on their side coming in.

Make no mistake, the Brewers are going to have to play their brains out to get the job done. Well, Milwaukee announced their playoff roster they will be employing to try and do just that and it does, in fact, include Sal Frelick.

Brewers 2024 playoff roster announcement includes Sal Frelick

There weren't too many deviations from our predictions for the Brewers' playoff roster here beyond not including Bryan Hudson in the bullpen and of course Frelick being on the roster. However, the writing was on the wall when Frelick declaring that he felt ready to play right before the series and that meant Tyler Black was the odd man out.

Getting Frelick back could be a huge boost to Milwaukee both from a depth and upside perspective in this series. While his .655 OPS this season has left a lot to be desired, the guy plays hard, is capable of doing a lot of damage like he did when he was first called up to the big leagues, and is a tremendous defender and baserunning. Don't be surprised if Frelick makes a couple key plays in this series that we look back upon with awe.

The rest of the roster is relatively straightforward as most of the roles have been pretty entrenched for the Milwaukee for a while now.
