There was good news for Milwaukee with reports that Christian Yelich will not be getting season-ending surgery. He will still miss time but the Brewers should expect him to be ready come playoff time.

According to Ken Rosenthal, writer for the Athletic, Milwaukee are now looking for a left-handed hitter to include in the lineup. Not only did he report that the Brewers are seeking offense, but they are still looking to bolster the starting rotation.

It wasn't stated what position the Brewers would prefer this left handed hitter to be but there are a couple of players out there that will be available at the trade deadline.

Here are three different packages that the Crew could go out and acquire before the trade deadline passes.

1. Brandon Lowe, Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays are looked at as sellers this upcoming trade deadline after trading away Randy Arozarena to the Mariners. Brandon Lowe would be a great acquisition but may cost a bit due to the fact that he has a club option for the next two years, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2027.

Lowe is having himself a solid year hitting .235/.327/.475 along with a 129 wRC+, 1.2 WAR, and .802 OPS. The 30-year-old second baseman would be an incredible addition to this Brewers lineup as he provides the left-handed hitter they are currently seeking. When facing right-handed pitchers, Lowe can slot right into the DH spot that Yelich once had.

2. Luis Rengifo and Tyler Anderson, Los Angeles Angels

It was reported from Ken Rosenthal that the Angels will be sellers and could be open to trading away Tyler Anderson and Luis Rengifo. It was also reported that Los Angeles would also be open to keeping both of these players if the offers coming in aren't attractive. The reason being for that is Rengifo having another year of arbitration before becoming a free agent in 2026 and Tyler Anderson still having another year left on his deal as he will be making $13 million.

Not only can Rengifo hit on the left hand side but he is also a switch hitter which provides flexibility for the Brewers going forward. Hitting against right-handed pitchers this season Rengifo has 5 HR, 25 RBIs along with a slash line of .292/.336/.407 and a .743 OPS. Another reason why this would be a great pickup is the fact that he can also play at third base. This gives Joey Ortiz a rest when going against right handed starting pitchers and also less pressure on Brice Turang who tends to lead off when a righty is on the mound.

As for Tyler Anderson in the deal, he has been incredible and would bolster this rotation to make a playoff run. Anderson currently has a 2.91 ERA along with a 1.15 WHIP and 4.44 FIP. One of the best things about acquiring Anderson is the fact that he has been going pretty deep into games this season, averaging 6.16 IP per start. His K% has been decreasing as he gets older but he makes things work and gets out of trouble when necessary. Tyler Anderson utilizes four pitches which are a fastball (thrown 41% of the time), a changeup (thrown 36% of the time), a cutter (thrown 19% of the time), and a sinker that he rarely throws just at 4%.

3. One of Michael Conforto or Mike Yastrzemski from the San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants are viewed to be sellers at this upcoming trade deadline and may be open to letting go some outfield depth. Players like Conforto or Yastrzemski are exactly what the Brewers are currently looking for.

Let's start with the 33-year old Mike Yastrzemski who does have another year of arbitration, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2026. Yastrzemski is hitting .244/.321/.433 along with 8 HR, 33 RBIs, 115 wRC+, .754 OPS, and 1.2 WAR. Once again, he would replace Yelich in the DH spot and would most likely be in the second part of the lineup and provide solid hitting.

As for Michael Conforto, he will be a free agent this upcoming offseason which would potentially make him cost less than Yastrzemski. Conforto has been fairly decent this season hitting .224/.296/.410 along with 10 HR, 39 RBIs, 101 wRC+, .707 OPS, and 0.6 WAR. The numbers may not be pretty but he's been hitting the ball well as he does have a .238 xBA, .450 xSLG, and .327 xwOBA. Conforto also has a Barrel% of 10.1 and HardHit% of 44.4 which is his highest since his rookie year back in 2015 with the New York Mets.
