The Brewers lost the first of three against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, 7-2, but will look to get back on track against a struggling Toronto pitcher.

Alek Manoah has fallen off significantly after an All-Star appearance in 2022, and it won't get any easier against the NL West leading Brewers. Milwaukee will counter with Julio Teheran, who wasn't in the big leagues in 2022, but caught on with the Brewers who need some rotation depth. Despite the time off, is Teheran being undervalued?

Brewers vs. Blue Jays prediction and pick

Manoah doesn't deserve to be this kind of favorite against anyone at the moment. He has a 5.53 ERA that is supported by a 6.15 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP), which means that his poor numbers are likely a little worse than expectation. Manoah is particularly struggling at limiting walks, giving out more than six free bases per nine innings. Milwaukee isn't an elite hitting group, but they are 11th in walk rate at nearly 10%.

The Blue Jays offense is dangerous, top five in on-base percentage in the big leagues, and will be facing Teheran who didn't pitch in the big leagues in 2022. I won't hold too much weight in his five innings of one run baseball against the Giants in his debut with the Brewers, but given the poor form of Manoah this season, I believe there is plenty of upside in backing Milwaukee to win as underdogs.

This is purely a fade of Manoah with the first place Brewers on the road.
