Each month the Milwaukee Brewers recognize top performs in the minor leagues for their performances both at the plate and on the mound. In July, a pair of top 30 prospects put together outstanding months and were given the award.
Milwaukee Brewers July minor league player of the month
July's player of the month in the Brewers minor league system was 2022 12th round draft pick Luke Adams. The 20 year old has been with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers all season and has put together a .245/.454/.440 slash line with 11 home runs, 53 RBI, 70 BB to 72 K, and 28 stolen bases.
In July Adams was on a completely different level. He collected five home runs, 17 RBI, 21 BB, 8 SB, and posted a 1.124 OPS. In addition to the Brewers recognizing him he was also named player of the month by the Midwest League.
Adams' power and speed combination with his impressive plate discipline gives him a very high ceiling that the Brewers are excited to see continue to develop.
Milwaukee Brewers July minor league pitcher of the month
On the mound, the Brewers eighth round selection in the 2023 draft Craig Yoho won pitcher of the month honors. The University of Indiana product has been dominant all season with both the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Double-A Biloxi Shuckers. This year the 24 year old right-hander has a 0.83 ERA and 83 strikeouts over 43.1 innings pitched.
In July Craig Yoho was unscored upon over 10.0 innings in which he also struck out 19 batters. On July 1 he recorded his first career save. Lastly he struck out 43% of batter faced last month while also holding them to a .179 batting average against.
Also, down in the Dominican Summer League, the Brewers also named their Complex League player and pitcher of the month. Shortstop Jesus Made won the player of the month award for the second straight month after also taking home the trophy in June. Righty Ayendy Bravo won the pitcher of the month in the complex league after he posted a 0.44 ERA in 20.1 IP in July.
August is the last month in which all the Brewers minor league affiliates have a full slate of games. In September the regular season ends around the middle of the month. It will be interesting to see who stands out over the final six-ish weeks of the minor league season.
