It has been an injury filled first month of the regular season for the Milwaukee Brewers. They currently have 10 players on the injured list and keeping track of where everyone is in their rehab process has been quite the chore.

On Sunday, the team provided updates on five players including where they are in their recovery and an updated timeline for return.

1. RHP Brandon Woodruff

Brandon Woodruff was placed on the injured list after just two starts. He has not thrown a baseball since April 7 and has undergone two MRI's. His diagnosis has been a strain to one of the rotator cuff muscles called the subscapularis. A recent MRI had good news and now the next steps for Woodruff include starting to throw within a week and a timeline to return to the big leagues is now set for around the end of June.

2. RHP Adrian Houser

Towards the end of spring training Adrian Houser was removed from a game with a groin injury. He's now made four rehab appearances in Triple-A with the Nashville Sounds, is already back with the club, and is expected to activated sometime this week. His role upon returning has not been determined, but this could spell trouble for Colin Rea who has been filling in as a starting pitcher.

3. OF Tyrone Taylor

Tyrone Taylor did not get a single at-bat during spring training due to an elbow issue. He's undergone some injections into his elbow, but appears to be close to returning to the big leagues. The outfielder is currently rehabbing in Triple-A Nashville and the Brewers could use his experience in the outfield given the injuries to Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick. He's expected to be activated early on in the road trip this week.

4. RHP Gus Varland

During the Padres series, Gus Varland was hit in the hand on a comebacker that came off that bat of Manny Machado. He thankfully avoided any serious injury. Varland has made two appearances with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers but now Milwaukee wants him to go to Nashville before returning to the big leagues and continue his rehab assignment a little longer.

5. INF Luis Urias

On Opening Day, Luis Urias sustained a hamstring injury during his final at-bat. He is currently on the 60-day injured list and at the soonest could return is early June. Recovery wise the Brewers have announced that he is currently running at 50%. They have indicated that he hasn't had any set backs, so this appears to be good news.

In expected injury news the Milwaukee Brewers transferred Garrett Mitchell to the 60-day injured list today. Mitchell is to undergo shoulder surgery and it is unlikely that he will return this season.

Hopefully the injured players mentioned above can continue to progress and advance towards returning to the big league club.
