Milwaukee Brewers probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Cincinnati Reds, August 29 - Game 1
Let's play two!
The Milwaukee Brewers finally did what they had been unable to do this season up until now which was win a series against a team from the NL West as they took their recent home series from the Giants two games to one. Now they head right back out on the road to Cincinnati, starting with a doubleheader on Friday.
Probable starting pitchers
Colin Rea will be on the mound for the Brewers in the early game of the doubleheader. At 12-4 he leads Milwaukee pitchers in wins and has a 3.61 ERA and 1.155 WHIP to go with his record on the season. He wasn't his sharpest his last time out against the A's, giving up four runs in 6.2 innings on eight hits (two of them homers) and no walks, though the Crew escaped with a 9-5 win.
It will be Nick Martinez starting opposite Rea for the Reds. He has appeared in 36 games on the season but this will be just his 11th start. He'll look to improve on a 5.47 ERA, 1.373 WHIP, and .303 batting average allowed as a starter so far in 2024
