Milwaukee Brewers probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, August 12
A big pitching matchup brewing in Milwaukee tonight
In a battle of National League heavyweights, the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers prepare to face off for a four-game series. Entering the day, the Brewers are atop the NL Central at 67-50 while the Dodgers are atop the NL East at 69-49. These two clubs are one and two in the NL in run differential and are two of the best offenses and pitching staffs in the game. The next four games are sure to be a thrill for fans who are looking for action.
Probable starting pitchers
- Freddy Peralta is set to make his 24th start of the year for the Brewers. The right-hander has, as usual, been a steady presence atop the Brewers' rotation and is in the midst of yet another above-average year on the mound. So far, the 28-year-old is 7-6 with a 4.02 ERA, 3.99 FIP and 105 ERA+. He is also still striking out over 11 batters per nine innings, which puts him up there with some of the top strikeout-heavy arms in the game.
- Opposite Peralta will be future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, who is set to make his fourth start of the year. The 17-year veteran missed the first half of the season while he recovered from a left shoulder surgery. Since his return from the injured list, he just hasn't looked like himself. Kershaw has struck out 11 batters and walked three while surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on 17 hits in just 12.1 innings of work. In his last outing, he went 4.2 innings of one-run ball against the Phillies, striking out five and walking one.
