Milwaukee Brewers update Spring Breakout roster by removing three top 30 prospects
Some of the top pitchers in the Brewers system will no longer participate in the Spring Breakout
The Milwaukee Brewers have a very talented Spring Breakout roster and MLB.com recently ranked them as the second best in all of the league. Their roster consists of top prospects such as Jackson Chourio, Jeferson Quero, Jacob Misiorowski, Brock Wilken, Luis Lara, and many others.
Per MLB Pipeline the Brewers have made an adjustment to their roster. The moves made includes removing three top 30 prospects and replacing them with three unranked players.
Robert Gasser, Carlos F. Rodriguez, and Bradley Blalock have been removed from the Milwaukee Brewers Spring Breakout roster.
All three pitchers have reportedly been removed from the teams Spring Breakout roster. Gasser is the team's sixth ranked prospect, Rodriguez eighth, and Blalock 18th. Blalock is the only one of these talented pitchers on the Brewers 40-man roster.
No information has been provided as to why they were removed. Milwaukee does have a normal Cactus League game that day in addition to the Spring Breakout content, so it's possible that they are needed by the big league club.
Being added to the inaugural Spring Breakout roster are three right-handed pitchers in Blake Holub, Ryan Middendorf, and Brett Wichrowski. Holub is a 25 year old who was acquired in the Mark Canha trade at the start of the offseason, Middendorf previously played in independent ball and signed with the Brewers in the summer of 2022, and Wichrowski was selected in the 13th round of last year's draft.
26 players in total are on the Brewers roster for this game. It's possible that the three newly added players don't make an appearance. Outside of Misiorowski, other pitchers that could be seen include Logan Henderson, Josh Knoth, Shane Smith, Justin Yeager, Patricio Aquino, and Bishop Letson.
The Spring Breakout game is scheduled for Sunday, March 17 in which the Brewers will play against some of the Kansas City Royals top prospects.
