Despite hanging around first place in a weak NL Central for most of the 2023 season, the Milwaukee Brewers received just one All-Star selection when the rosters were announced recently. Fans likely weren't surprised when they heard what member of the Crew received that honor.

Star closer Devin Williams, a former NL Rookie of the Year and NL Reliever of the Year is set to make the trip to Seattle next week to take part in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game. He made it in on the back of an excellent season thus far that sees him 4-2 with a 1.99 ERA, 1.074 WHIP, .153 batting average against, and 18 saves which rank 4th in the NL.

The accolades have been building for Williams every since he won that Rookie of the Year award back in 2020. In this case, he now joins a group of Brewers players who have earned multiple All-Star Game selections as he was an All-Star last season as well.

The Brewers franchise as we currently know it has been around for a little over 50 years and has a number of current and former players who have been selected to the All-Star Game more than once. But just who has received the most selections over that time?

Former Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun was selected to the most All-Star games of anyone in franchise history, earning the honor six times.

Yes, it turns out you don't even have to look back that far to find the Brewer with the most All-Star selections. Ryan Braun, who only formally retired less than two years ago, earned a franchise high six selections to the Midsummer Classic.

Braun was named to the All-Star game for five straight seasons from 2008 to 2012. He earned his sixth and final selection during the 2015 season. Of course, those types of numbers are to be expected of a franchise cornerstone with a career .891 OPS and 352 home runs.

Two other Brewers legends from the 80s and 90s tie for second in All-Star selections while with the franchise right behind Braun with five. Those two would be first baseman Cecil Cooper and infielder Paul Molitor.

Cooper, who started his career with the Red Sox, earned all five of his All-Star selections as a Brewer, earning the honor in 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, and 1985. Molitor, meanwhile, was an All-Star in 1980, 1985, 1988, 1991, and 1992. He earned two more selections as a Minnesota Twin in 1993 and 1994.

Three Brewers were four-time All-Stars during their time in Milwaukee. Those players were pitchers Don Money (1974, 1976-78), Ben Sheets (2001, 2004, 2007-8), and Josh Hader (2018-19, 2021-22).

The 2023 MLB All-Star Game takes place next Tuesday, July 11th in Seattle, Washington. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
