The call up to the big leagues is one of the most emotional and memorable moments in a player's career. Years and years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears building towards a goal that so many never achieve. When they finally get there, it's an incredible moment to see someone's dreams come true.

The Milwaukee Brewers just made those dreams come true for two players, who were told they will make the Opening Day roster. The Brewers got the moment they told them on camera, and get the tissues ready.

Watch the videos as the Brewers inform infield prospect Brice Turang and reliever Gus Varland they have made the big leagues.

First, let's watch Brice Turang get told he's made the team.

Craig Counsell went with the fakeout for Brice Turang. Turang, who's been in big league camp for several years now as a non-roster invite, was added to the 40 man roster this offseason and was thought to be a September call up candidate last year, but didn't get the call. Counsell pretended they were giving him bad news and said they would option him, but option him to Chicago, where the Brewers will open the regular season.

It seemed to take Turang a moment or two, thinking he was getting optioned but realizing that Counsell said Chicago and not Nashville. When he did realize it, he looked up and Counsell gave him a congratulations and a hug. A dream realized for Turang.

He'll see a lot of time at second base, where he's been very good defensively and his bat has been strong as well.

Now to Gus Varland, who was not a first round pick like Turang and his path to the big leagues was a bit rockier at times. His path led to a very emotional moment as he gets told he's made the team.

Gus Varland was a struggling starter in Double-A in the Dodgers organization. He seemed to be stalling out in the middle levels of the minors. Sleepless nights, rough outings, trying to figure things out over the last two years, and now he's a big leaguer.

This is what the Rule 5 Draft is all about, giving new opportunities to players and Varland would've had a tough time making his way up to the bullpen in the Dodgers organization despite his obvious talent. The Brewers gave him the opportunity and he earned it. His stuff is electric and he dominated in spring training.

All those years struggling in the minors is not easy, and Varland talks about how he was battling through it and for it all to culminate in making the big league club is a beautiful sight to see. A huge weight lifted off his shoulders, as he said. You can't help but smile and be so happy for Varland. He even takes a moment just to soak it all in. It's the biggest day of his career since he was drafted in the 14th round by the Athletics in 2018.

These videos were really well done by the Brewers and give us inside looks at how players are informed and see their reactions to making the team. They tug at the heartstrings, and you can't help but root for guys like this. How can you not be romantic about baseball.
