For Milwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Sawyer Strosnider, who was drafted in the second round (No. 66 overall) of this year's draft, his first professional home run could not have happened in a more perfect way. In just his seventh career game, Strosnider launched his first pro homer, but the moment became even more special when the ball landed in his dad’s hands, after he had predicted that his son would hit the home run just moments before.

Strosnider's home run came at Neuroscience Group Field, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, where he broke a 2-2 tie with the Lake Country Captains, the Cleveland Guardians' High-A affiliate, in the seventh inning by hitting a 1-0 changeup over the wall in right center field. The ball was caught by a man in a white shirt (as seen in the video below), who just so happened to be Strosnider's dad.

Surreal details behind Sawyer Strosnider's dad predicting and catching his son's first professional home run

To make this story even better, Strosnider’s dad captured the entire moment on camera, later sharing his point of view with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, which is included below. Furthermore, as reported by MLB.com's prospect expert Sam Dykstra, while pacing around the stadium, Strosnider's dad interrupted a private party near the area where he caught the home run ball and confidently told the group, “Well, my son’s about to hit a home run that I’m going to catch.”

Adding to the surreal nature of the moment was the sheer luck involved in being in the right place at the right time. Not only did Strosnider’s dad correctly predict that his son was about to hit a home run and have his camera rolling, but he also happened to be positioned perfectly to catch the ball.

The combination of the psychic-level prediction, the incredible video, and, not to be overlooked, the great catch, made the moment feel almost too perfect to be real and is one memorable milestone in Strosnider's young career that he and his family will now certainly never forget.
