The offseason not only serves as an opportunity for MLB teams to reevaluate their major league rosters, but it's also a time when organizations take a look at their minor league depth and determine how they can better set themselves up for future success. The process not only involves navigating a minor league free agency window that opened last week, but it also includes evaluating their top prospect talent to ensure that their development continues on a steady course when the next season rolls around.

What makes that evaluation process much easier is the presence of offseason prospect leagues that allow players to continue competing against strong competition after the regular season has completed. With several prospects playing in Central and South America, including top catching prospect Jeferson Quero, who is off to an excellent start in the Venezuelan Winter League, and others playing in the Arizona Fall League (AFL), the Milwaukee Brewers have plenty of players to keep an eye on this offseason as they determine where each one will start the 2026 season.

One player in the AFL who has quickly ascended through the Brewers' prospect rankings over the last year is continuing to impress with his offseason performance, suggesting a promotion could be on the horizon for him before the 2026 season arrives.

Josh Adamczewski reaches base twice in Fall Stars Game continuing his impressive offseason performance

A 15th round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, Josh Adamczewski has quickly become one of the most exciting prospects in the Brewers' organization. During his first full season of professional baseball in 2024, Adamczewski burst onto the scene with a .945 OPS in his first 41 games before an injury cut his season short. In his highly anticipated 2025 season, Adamczewski once again produced strong numbers, but was limited to just 71 games.

As a result, to get a better understanding of where he was at in his development, the Brewers sent Adamczewski to the Arizona Fall League for some more game-action ahead of the 2026 season. He has responded impressively, essentially telling his organization that despite missing considerable amounts of time in each of the last two seasons, he's ready for any challenge they throw his way. The 20-year-old former infielder who has converted to the outfield grass this fall, is slashing .290/.430/.565 with four homers and five doubles in just 19 games in the AFL this year. He's turning heads with his smooth left-handed swing that has produced some impressive exit velocities down in Arizona.

His performance led to him being named to the Fall Stars Game -- a showcase for the top players in the AFL, which was played on Sunday night. Adamczewski drew a five-pitch walk in his first plate appearance and cracked a hard-hit single to right field that left his bat at nearly 107 mph in his second.

Adamczewski, who currently ranks as the Brewers' 13th best prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has done everything possible this fall to prove that his performance over the last two seasons is not simply the product of a small sample size. After finishing the 2025 season with 16 games of High-A ball for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, it's possible that Adamczewski's Fall League performance is enough to earn him a spot on the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers' roster to start the 2026 season. His switch to the outfield, which prevents him from competing for at-bats with prospects like Cooper Pratt, Jesús Made, and Luis Peña, makes it even more likely that Adamczewski will continue to move rapidly through the Brewers' farm system.
