Bill Hall’s Hit Gives Brewers Win Over St. Louis

Bill Hall who has been struggling all season long finally got a hit that actually meant something as he singled in the winning run in Milwaukee’s 1-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.  Hall  who was in a 1 for 28 slump finally had something to smile about as this season has not gotten off to a good start for him.

Yovani Gallardo took a no-hitter into the six inning before allowing just two hits over eight innings. Even though Gallardo did not get the win he pitched very well and the Brewers need him to keep this up.  Trevor Hoffman pitched a perfect ninth inning and Carlos  Villanueva picked up the win after Billy Hall singled in the winning run.

Casey McGehee was able to get on when St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Brian Barden could not field the ball he hit. After  Prince Fielder was intentionally walked, but retired on Mike Cameron’s fielders choice. Hall who came in the ninth inning then singled the winning run in.

This was a good win for the Milwaukee Brewers who had a rough series against  the Twins. The Brewers lately have had some great success against the Cardinals and they hope to keep that up tomorrow as they send Jeff Suppan to the mound.
