Finally Brewers Get Some Pitching In 4-0 Win

It has taken close to four months, but Brewer fans finally got to see Yovani Gallardo pitch like he is capable of last night in a 4-0 win over the Atlanta Braves. This was a very important game for a number of different reasons. First the Brewers needed to stop the slide they were on and the pitching has been so horrible they were due for a good performance sometime.

Yovani Gallardo pitched 7.1 scoreless innings and even help his cause by driving in a run. He pitched very well and looked like the ace the Brewers thought he could be. Lately he has not pitched well at all and there was cause for concern, but hopefully he will take this game and use it as a stepping stone to rest of the season. The bullpen came in and shut the door which is also something they have been struggling at. Seth McClung was put on the 15 day disabled list and the Brewers called up RHP Tim Dillard from Triple-A Nashville to take his spot.

Hitting stars last night were Craig Counsell and Yovani Gallardo who each had two hits a piece. Not to often do you see a pitcher help his own cause, but Gallardo did last night. Today the Brewers toss Braden Looper who has pitched extremely well for the Brewers.
