Last night, the Milwaukee Brewers demoted RHP Tyler Cravy and speculation began as to which OF would be called up from AAA.

OF Alex Presley got the call up from AAA today as the Milwaukee Brewers took the 8-1 loss at home against the Minnesota Twins. After Keon Broxton’s struggles and Michael Reed‘s position change to CF, many thought he could be soon to be called up to the Milwaukee Brewers.

But, when all was settled and done, the Milwaukee Brewers made the early announcement today to settle things straight.

Alex Presley isn’t an up and coming prospect for Milwaukee Brewers fans to be excited about as he’s already 30-years old and has bounced around the league as the Milwaukee Brewers are his 4th team to play on. He signed a minor league deal with the team in the off-season and after a solid Spring Training hoped to make the team.

Keon Broxton took the spot, but Alex Presley kept his numbers up as he was hitting .344/.400/.563 in 35 plate appearances with the Sky Sox. As CF continues to be an open door, it should be no surprise if more moves are made down the road if players struggle.

Although, early on the Milwaukee Brewers rank 25th in (-0.3) WAR offensively in CF, so Alex Presley has picked a good place to prove he should stay in the major leagues. Today, he made his mark as he went 1-1 in a PH as it was one of the Milwaukee Brewers few highlights of the day.

As the Milwaukee Brewers continue over the weekend with the Philadelphia Phillies, it should be interesting what role Alex Presley plays as it’ll certainly depend on how well Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Ramon Flores do. As the old saying goes, only time will tell.
