Milwaukee Brewers: Another walk-off & a solid start in the Minors on 4/11

Three nights, three walk off wins in a row for the Milwaukee Brewers Minor League teams!

Triple-A

San Antonio Missions (5-3) vs. Memphis Redbirds (3-5)

No sweep as the Missions drop the finale of the series 6-3 against the Redbirds.

Milwaukee Brewers prospect Mauricio Dubon had another good game, going 2-for-4 and upping his average to .323 and OPS to .710. Nate Orf and Jacob Nottingham each hit doubles and collected an RBI. Third baseman Lucas Erceg went 1-for-3 with a run and walk.

Zack Brown allowed three runs in six innings of work, walking two and striking out five. Miguel Sanchez got the loss while giving up three runs in his two innings of work.

Tomorrow the Nashville Sounds come into town for a four-game series against the Missions.

Double-A

Biloxi Shuckers (4-3) vs. Montgomery Biscuits (3-3)

Not much to talk about as Biloxi struggled to get on base tonight with just three hits in their 6-0 shut out loss to the Biscuits.

Milwaukee Brewers 11th ranked prospect Trey Supak didn’t look good, going just 4 2/3 innings while giving up four runs. He gave up four hits and four walks while throwing just three strike outs.

Class A Advanced

Carolina Mudcats (6-2) vs. Wilmington Blue Rocks (5-3)

It’s was opening night in Zebulon and Muddy fans enjoy the third walk off win by a Milwaukee Brewers’ affiliate in three straight days.

Down 6-4, bottom of the ninth, Third baseman Dallas Carroll came to the plate with two on and no outs. On a 2-2 pitch, Carroll hit a three-run blast over the wall out in left center. The hit was Carroll’s only one on the night, but it was a big one.

Payton Henry collected his third double of the season going 1-for-4 with a run and RBI.

Outfielder Joantgel Segovia, who we mention nightly it seems like, was the only Mudcat with multiple hits as he collected two more hits, extending his team lead to 12. He also took two walks and is current batting .400 with an OPS of 1.20.

Starting pitcher Nelson Hernandez went 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts with six hits and two earned runs. Matt Hardy got his second win of the season, pitching scoreless ninth inning, striking out two.

Class A

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (4-3) vs. Peoria Chiefs (3-4)

It’s another rain out in Appleton… the Rattlers will make up Thursday’s game against Peoria later in the first half of the season.
