Last year's Milwaukee Brewers season was a memorable one, highlighted by two double-digit winning streaks, including a franchise-record 14-consecutive wins, the best record in baseball, and a trip to the National League Championship Series. Furthermore, Christian Yelich surpassed 100 RBI for the first time since 2018, Freddy Peralta reached 200 strikeouts for a third consecutive season, and the team won 19 straight games when Quinn Priester was on the mound.

Some of last season’s accomplishments couldn’t have been predicted even in our wildest dreams, but what lies ahead in the new campaign? With just over one week until Opening Day, let’s take a closer look with three bold predictions of our own.

3 bold Milwaukee Brewers player predictions for the 2026 season

1. Brice Turang becomes the second National League second baseman since 2021 to eclipse 100 RBI

Traditionally, second basemen aren’t known for power or run production, but Brice Turang bucked that trend last season, blasting 18 home runs and driving in 81 runs. His .435 slugging percentage marked a significant jump from the year prior, when he slugged .359, adding the final component, power, to his already existing four-tool profile.

Now that Turang’s power is no longer a secret, Pat Murphy should place him in an optimal spot in the lineup to maximize his run production. Between that and the Brewers’ run-generating offensive team approach, he has a strong chance to become just the second NL second baseman since 2021 to reach 100 RBI, joining Ozzie Albies of the Atlanta Braves, who did it in 2021 and 2023.

2. No pitcher surpasses 150 innings pitched during the regular season

Aside from Brandon Woodruff and Quinn Priester, the Brewers' starting pitching group entering the 2026 season is quite young and inexperienced. With Woodruff's Opening Day status up in the air and Priester to be sidelined for at minimum the first month, it will be an all-hands-on-deck approach for Milwaukee to begin the year.

That said, as always, the Brewers are likely to rely on a large number of arms to get through the season. With so much inexperience in the rotation, some starters may struggle to work deep into games and could be monitored closely, especially with several potentially approaching career highs in innings pitched. Because of that, it’s plausible that no single pitcher surpasses 150 innings this year. For reference, only Freddy Peralta and Quinn Priester reached that mark last season.

3. Garrett Mitchell stays healthy and is a 20/20 player

Injuries and misfortune have kept Garrett Mitchell from putting together a full MLB season over the past four years, but perhaps 2026 will finally be the year the Brewers’ former first-round pick stays healthy from start to finish. If he can remain on the field, it would give fans their first extended look at the dynamic skill set that made him such a highly regarded prospect.

Mitchell’s combination of power and speed still gives him the ceiling of a 20/20 player, and that’s exactly what I predict he’ll accomplish in a fully healthy season. For a bonus bold prediction, we'll say he finishes with a strikeout rate under 30%, despite being at 33% throughout his career.
