The Milwaukee Brewers’ 2025 season didn't end the way they wanted it to, but that shouldn't detract from what was otherwise one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history. Before they were swept at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the Brew Crew broke a franchise record for the most wins in a single regular season, which included a record-long 14-game winning streak, and defeated their current arch-rivals, the Chicago Cubs, in a thrilling postseason series. By nearly every metric, outside of the team's failure to reach the World Series once again, 2025 was a highly successful season for the Brewers.
However, more context is needed to truly understand just how impressive Milwaukee's 2025 campaign really was. The Brewers, forever keeping an eye on the future, once again parted ways with two major pieces during the 2024-25 offseason. A trade of Devin Williams to the New York Yankees and a difficult decision to let Willy Adames walk in free agency, made easier by the high price the Brewers would have had to pay to keep him in Milwaukee, highlighted the Brewers' winter last year. Those moves, which followed the departures of Corbin Burnes and Craig Counsell from the previous offseason and Josh Hader during the 2022 trade deadline, once again led to many folks less familiar with Milwaukee's brand of baseball picking the Brewers to fall in the NL Central standings during the 2025 season.
Add to those departures the fact that Milwaukee's payroll was minuscule compared to the juggernauts that they beat out for the top playoff seed in the NL, and the Brewers' 2025 success becomes even more impressive.
However, Milwaukee's 2025 success as an organization didn't end in the big leagues. Not only did the Brewers win 97 games in the regular season at the major league level, but they also have one of, if not the best, farm systems in all of baseball. The Brewers have done exceptionally well with their free agent signings out of Central and South America in recent years, taken a unique and highly successful approach to the MLB Draft, and constantly turned aging veterans into long-term pieces. The result is an organization that is not only finding success in the present moment, but also one that should continue to be competitive for many years to come.
As a result, one of baseball's most popular publications, Baseball America, just named the Milwaukee Brewers the 2025 MLB Organization of the Year.

Baseball America names Milwaukee Brewers the 2025 MLB Organization of the Year
Those who tuned into Brewers baseball last season know that there was something special happening in Milwaukee. From late-game heroics often from unlikely heroes, to breakouts that no one saw coming, to top prospects Jesús Made and Luis Peña continuing to collectively turn heads down in the minor leagues, 2025 was an excellent year to be a Brewers fan.
As such, it might come as no surprise to Brewers fans that their team was deemed the best organization in baseball. The Milwaukee faithful have become accustomed to watching their front office execute seemingly psychic moves while witnessing their affable manager will his team to success. They've come to expect a certain level of excellence from their baseball team that is rarely met with recognition from the national media. However, Baseball America, which puts a strong emphasis on the health of an organization's farm system and their likelihood of being competitive down the road, is aware of just how brilliant Milwaukee as an organization has been in recent history, and is acknowledging that brilliance with this notable award.
It may not always appear so to the average observer, but it takes a village to operate an MLB organization, one that includes the countless individuals who work for their minor league affiliates and Rookie Ball teams. Baseball America's honor, which notably uses the term "organization" rather than team or front office, is a testament to all of the hard work that everyone connected to the Brewers in any way showed during the 2025 season. From those who work at American Family Field, to those who run the Brewers Community Foundation, to executives in the front office, to the team and coaching staff, and many others, Baseball America's coveted honor is an accurate acknowledgement of the excellence that is brewing in Milwaukee.
