Back in 2022, the Milwaukee Brewers unveiled their first City Connect uniforms. The baby blue alternates quickly became a fan favorite, showcasing a long-awaited color scheme along with subtle nods to Milwaukee, including a hidden “414” in the MKE cap logo, a grill patch, and beer foam–inspired striping woven throughout the design.

It’s fair to say the Brewers knocked the alternate uniform design out of the park, fully embracing MLB’s City Connect initiative to celebrate each team’s home city. That said, three years have now passed, and the league’s agreement with Nike allows for new alternate uniforms to be introduced at that interval. Over the weekend, photos leaked of Milwaukee's new jersey design have surfaced, and it's fair to say the new concept has fans longing for more.

Leaked Milwaukee Brewers City Connect jerseys reveal a dramatic new direction

In a social media post, Steve Freed claimed to have obtained Milwaukee Brewers’ new 2026 City Connect jersey. Though only the front and back were shown, the design features a “Great Lakes blue” colorway, “Wisco” across the chest, and the word “Forward” inside the collar.

The theme stands out most, as it leans more toward Wisconsin as a whole rather than just Milwaukee. “Wisco” across the front makes that clear, while “Forward” is the state motto. The “Great Lakes blue” color is also uncommon for the Brewers, though it’s worth noting the Milwaukee Bucks have used a similar shade in past City Edition uniforms.

Not shown in the photo are the sleeves, where patches will likely add more representative elements, or the hat, leaving an incomplete picture of the full uniform. Without seeing the entire set, it’s hard to fully evaluate the design, but early fan reactions suggest many are wanting more.

Fan reactions were quick to pour in: “Who is this supposed to appeal to?” one asked, while another said, “There’s literally no city connection.” “Orange and blue is… weird,” a third added, and another questioned, “Did we really have to get rid of the light blue?”

Just moments ago, another Brewers fan (@ANels39 on X) seemingly came across the hats that will accompany the new City Connect uniforms, posting the following image on the social media platform X.

Overall, the leaked potential 2026 Milwaukee Brewers City Connect jersey marks a bold departure from the previous design and theme. There are also questions about the color choices and lack of clear city identity. With the full uniform, including sleeves and pants color, yet to be revealed, the debate is far from over, so it will be interesting to see how the final design comes together.
