Back on May 15, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that they would be hosting a 25th Anniversary celebration for their ballpark, American Family Field (formerly Miller Park), on July 25, when the Crew faces off against the Miami Marlins. At the time of the initial announcement, the team was rather vague about what activities were set to occur, but they did announce that several former Brewers would be in attendance, and more clarity on what the celebration all entailed would come at a later date. Now, that date has arrived, and the team's plans for their ballpark's anniversary do not disappoint.

Following the game on July 25, which happens to be the Crew's first home game after the All-Star break, roughly 10 Brewers legends will take part in a Home Run Derby on the field, that will be free for all fans who purchase a ticket to the day's Brewers vs. Marlins game. As announced by the Brewers, Ryan Braun and Carlos Gómez will serve as team captains and other participants include: Corey Hart, Casey McGehee, Eric Thames, Bill Hall, Yovani Gallardo, and Nyjer Morgan. Ed Sedar, the Brewers’ former first and third base coach known for his elite BP, will do the pitching and former Brewers catcher George Kottaras will be behind the dish. It's sure to be a memorable evening, but the Home Run Derby isn't the only promotion of the night.

While the Home Run Derby is certainly the most exciting announcement of the day, it's not the only promotion that will be taking place on July 25. As outlined on brewers.com, the celebration will also include heavily discounted beers and brats up until first pitch, alumni autograph and photo opportunities, and a 25 percent discount on certain items at the Brewers team store.

Tickets are still available, but they are going fast. A ticket gets you access to all of the promotions listed above, with no extra fees required. With the added excitement of the upcoming trade deadline, a beatable opponent in the Marlins, and more events that have yet to be announced, July 25's Friday afternoon Brewers game is not one you will want to miss.
