Spring training is fast approaching and soon the focus will soon be on roster decisions, box scores, and win totals. In the meantime, there are a number of stories regarding our beloved Milwaukee Brewers as the season approaches.

While these stories may not be about the team on the field, they are about something perhaps just as important, the Brewers community. These stories involve a loss of a member of the Brewers family, a unique tribute to Bob Uecker, and information on when we can all gather together again.

Brewers announce single game ticket sale date

Skip the flowers and chocolate this year, as the Brewers announced that fans will be able to start purchasing single game tickets on February 14th. Brewers President of Business Operations, Rich Schlesinger made the announcement on Monday to local media, as season tickets, group tickets, and other plans are already available. Schlesinger indicated that business is booming, and that Brewers fans are excited to be back at American Family Field, "Our ticket sales are ahead of last year at this time."

Tickets will be able to bought at American Family Field, through the Brewers team site, or by phone, starting at 9 AM on Valentine's Day. So surprise your special someone with a trip to watch the Brewers.

NASCAR team member posts tribute to Bob Uecker

Following Chase Elliot's win at Bowman Gray Stadium in the Cook Out Clash on Sunday night, a Wisconsin native and member of the Hendrick Motorsports was able to post a special tribute to Brewers legend Bob Uecker.

Steve Wedvick, one of the welders at Hendrick Motorsports, grew up in Edgerton, Wisconsin, and traveled the state going to local race tracks with family and friends. Those trips around the state nearly always included listening to Bob Uecker on the radio. As his career progressed, and he landed his dream job with a NASCAR team, listening to Brewers baseball online was a way to remind him of home, and those trips with his grandfather and father.

Due to licensing, the sticker was unable to be on the car during the race. However, Wedvick was able to place it on the car in the shop on Monday morning, thanks in part due to the beverages that covered the car from the victory lane celebration. After snapping the picture, Wedvick transferred the sticker to his welding helmet, which oversees every single race car at Hendrick Motorsports, the winningest team in NASCAR.

Former Brewers bench coach passes away

The Brewers shared some sad news on Monday afternoon, joining the Orioles in announcing the passing of Rich Dauer.

Dauer spent his entire playing career with the Baltimore Orioles, spanning from 1976 to 1985, playing 2nd and 3rd base for the O's. He had a career .257 average, 43 home runs, and 372 RBIs. He was part of the 1983 Baltimore Orioles World Series championship team, and was enshrined in the team Hall of Fame in 2012.

After his playing days, Dauer turned to coaching, spending time with several minor league organizations before joining the big league's starting with Cleveland in 1990. He would spend time with the Royals, before joining the Brewers from 2003 to 2005 where he served as bench coach to Brewers manager Ned Yost. He would go on to coach for the Rockies, and Astros, where he was the 1st base coach and won his second World Series ring in 2017.
