According to Curt Hogg, the Milwaukee Brewers beat reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers are planning on re-calling rookie pitcher Logan Henderson from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday's series finale against the Cleveland Guardians.
Brewers pitching plan update:

-José Quintana is now listed as the probable starter for Saturday’s game.
-Logan Henderson is being called up from Class AAA Nashville to start Wednesday in Cleveland, per sources.
The news comes after reports on Tuesday afternoon indicated that veteran-lefty José Quintana is dealing with arm soreness and needed a few extra days before his next start. As Hogg mentions, Quintana will now pitch on Saturday afternoon's game against the Minnesota Twins, with Chad Patrick getting the start in Friday's series opener.
Henderson will be making his second major league start after a stellar debut back in April. In his first start, he tossed six innings and allowed just one run on a solo home run to Seth Brown, which is still the only long ball that the Athletics outfielder has hit in 2025. Additionally, Henderson fanned nine opposing batters while walking just one. He looked more than ready for the big leagues, but unfortunately was sent back down to Triple-A after his start to make room in the rotation for the return of Tobias Myers.
Logan Henderson to make another big league start after Brandon Woodruff's return delayed by new injury
On Sunday morning, the Brewers optioned Myers, their 2024 breakout star, to Triple-A in anticipation of the return of their long-term ace, Brandon Woodruff. Woodruff was expected to take over Myers' spot in the rotation when it came up again in this weekend's "border battle" with the Minnesota Twins. Rather than wait until Woodruff was officially ready-to-go to demote Myers to Triple-A, the Brewers elected to send him down early and replace him with an extra bullpen arm, Elvis Peguero.
At the time, the decision seemed prudent — the Brewers' bullpen has been overworked all season, so why not gain an extra reliever for a few games before Woodruff's start? However, that plan only works if Woodruff's return is practically guaranteed, because otherwise the team is optioning Myers to Triple-A and risking burning one of his minor league option years (which may or may not be used at some point in the season) for seemingly no reason. Myers still needs to be on the minor league roster for a full 20 days before losing one of his minor league option years, so the risk is minimal.
Unfortunately, Woodruff's return wasn't guaranteed. After a minor ankle injury popped up in his final rehab start on Sunday, he won't be able to make a start for the Brewers this upcoming weekend and instead remains on the IL. Now, the Brewers suddenly find themselves down a starter and scrambling to move things around to give Quintana the rest that he needs.
Thankfully, the Brewers are stacked with starting pitching options down in Triple-A, and Henderson will slot in nicely as the starter on Wednesday afternoon. However, Myers, who wouldn't have been able to start on Wednesday anyways given that he last pitched on Saturday night, must now be even more upset that he lost his spot in the rotation.
Perhaps Henderson would have been called up regardless to fill in for Quintana, but had the Brewers known Woodruff's IL stint would continue, Myers would likely still be on the roster and one of their extra relievers who have already burned their minor league options this season would have been demoted instead to make room on the roster for Henderson. Henderson could have been optioned back down to Triple-A after his start, as he likely eventually will be when Woodruff does return, and Myers could have made his next start for the Crew. Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20, but with the timeline of Woodruff's return now uncertain, it's likely the Brewers wish they had waited on Myers’ demotion.
