For the last two years, two teenage infielders have been the talk of the Milwaukee Brewers' top-ranked farm system. Jesús Made and Luis Peña, both of whom hail from the Dominican Republic, have both put together head-turning starts to their professional baseball careers, and, as a result, have Brewers fans anxiously awaiting their arrivals in the big leagues.

Made, who currently checks in as the top-ranked prospect in all of MLB according to just about every prospect rankings list, is currently the youngest player at the Double-A level, but you would never know it from his performance. The 19-year-old, switch-hitting shortstop is slashing .281/.355/.441 with 24 extra base hits, 51 RBI, and 23 stolen bases in 67 games with the Biloxi Shuckers this year. What's even more impressive than the surface-level numbers is Made's unique blend of excellent plate discipline, eye-popping exit velocities, speed, and defensive prowess. For a player of his age to be as far along in his development is truly unique, and the prospect evaluators are certainly noticing.

And yet, as unique as Made's profile is, his fellow Brewers' prospect, Peña, is closely mirroring his success. Though Peña remains in High-A, after the two were simultaneously promoted to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers' roster last year, he's still far ahead of schedule in terms of his development. A scary, fainting incident caused Peña to miss roughly one month of games this year, but the young infielder is impressing with the T-Rats, slashing .304/.412/.392 with 12 RBI and 16 stolen bases in just 23 games.

While Made's major league debut most likely won't come until next year and Peña's could be delayed until the 2028 campaign, Brewers fans will soon have an opportunity to watch both take center stage during MLB's upcoming All-Star Futures Game.

Brewers top prospects Jesús Made and Luis Peña set to represent National League in All-Star Futures Game

The MLB All-Star Futures Game has a history dating back to 1999, though up until 2019, the game pitted the best prospects from the United States against the top international prospects. Now, the midseason prospect showcase features rosters constructed from the top minor leaguers in the National League and their counterparts in the American League.

Last year, Made was the only Brewers' prospect to participate in the game; he started at second base and went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored. However, this year, as reported by MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, Made and Peña are both expected to start for the National League, though it's not yet clear at which positions, and the pairs' defensive versatility leaves plenty of configurations on the table.

The duo will be the only two Brewers' prospects featured in this year's game, despite Milwaukee now having seven Top 100 prospects after MLB Pipeline's recent update, though it's important to note that two of those prospects, Cooper Pratt and Logan Henderson, are ineligible for the Futures Game as they are on the Brewers' 40-man roster.

The Futures Game will take place on Sunday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. CT and will air exclusively on NBC. Be sure to tune in to see two key pieces of the Brewers' future compete against some of the best talent in the minor leagues.
