UPDATE (6:00 p.m. CT): The Mets and Brewers have announced that tonight's game will begin in approximately 45 minutes at 6:45 p.m. CT. The start time is 35 minutes later than the originally scheduled time for tonight's game.
Yesterday, the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets were forced to play a doubleheader after Tuesday night's contest was postponed due to rain. The development favored the Mets — given how difficult it is to sweep a doubleheader, and the current form of the Brewers and Mets, the team who was playing worse at the time (the Mets) gets the advantage. The result was a split, with the Brewers taking game one on the backs of a Joey Ortiz grand slam and a gutsy quality start from Freddy Peralta.
Fast forward to tonight, and the Brewers are once again facing a disadvantage due to weather. Tonight's game, which was supposed to start at 6:10 p.m. CT, has been delayed, according to the Mets, and a start time has yet to be agreed upon.
The start of tonight’s Mets-Brewers game will be delayed due to impending weather in the area. We will provide updates as soon as they are available.

The Brewers are in the midst of a tough schedule, due less in part to the teams they are facing and more because of the timing of their contests. After a night game tonight, which will now start even later, the team immediately flies to Miami to face a red-hot Miami Marlins team tomorrow night. They follow that with two day games this weekend, before flying home to face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday — without an off day. That schedule is now made even worse by the fact that the team will arrive to Miami even later, should tonight's game still occur.
Brewers vs. Mets Weather Delay, July 3: Updates, Full Details, Start Time
If tonight's game does commence at some point this evening, it will be a matchup of southpaws on the bump. The Mets are throwing David Peterson, who has a 3.30 ERA across 16 starts this season. Meanwhile, the Brewers were set to throw José Quintana, who would have been making his return to the Citi Field mound after spending each of the last two seasons with New York.
While the Mets had announced a lineup prior to the announcement of the game being delayed, the Brewers have yet to post one, suggesting a low chance that tonight's game gets played.

As updates continue to pour in from the two teams, they will be added directly to this article, so be sure to check in periodically to see whether we will have Brewers baseball tonight, or if we will have to wait until tomorrow for another nine innings of the Crew.
