There was plenty to be excited about in tonight's match-up between the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets; the pitching match-up was a clash of aces in Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes, Anthony Seigler was scheduled to make his major league debut, and the Brewers were set to have another run-in with old friend Jesse Winker. But now, all that will have to wait, as tonight's game has officially been rained out.

The Mets announced that in lieu of tonight's game, the two teams will meet for a double-header tomorrow afternoon, with the first game set for 12:10 p.m. CT and game two starting at 6:10 p.m. CT.

It's the second rainout for the Brewers in the last two weeks, with the first coming against the Chicago Cubs on June 18. In that instance, the Cubs weaseled their way out of a double-header on the following day and instead scheduled it for mid-August. Pat Murphy later announced that the Brewers were in favor of playing the double-header immediately, according to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which would have allowed them to throw both Freddy Peralta and Jacob Misiorowski against their division rivals, but somehow the Cubs won out.

Ironically, it is Peralta and Misiorowski once again who are affected by today's schedule change. The belief, according to MLB.com's Brewers beat reporter Adam McCalvy, is that Peralta and Misiorowski will remain in their places in the starting rotation, with the former starting game one of tomorrow's double-header and the latter toeing the rubber in game two.

Something to note is that the Brewers will have the option to recall a 27th man to their roster for tomorrow's double-header. While it's not limited to just pitchers, teams generally do elect to add an extra arm to the bullpen. If the Brewers go that route, Craig Yoho, Elvis Peguero, and Bryan Hudson are the most likely candidates, but it is possible they turn to a length option like Elvin Rodriguez.

In a more unlikely scenario, the Brewers could re-call Logan Henderson, who notably hasn't pitched since June 25, meaning he would be throwing on six days’ rest if the Brewers elect to pull him from his start against the Memphis Redbirds tonight. Because of the double-header roster rules, the Crew could call up Henderson, have him start one of the two games tomorrow afternoon, and send him back down to Triple-A without having to make any corresponding roster moves.

More than likely, it will be Peralta and Miz tomorrow, offering Brewers fans two games of must-watch television on a Wednesday afternoon, but stay tuned for official word on tomorrow's pitching matchups.
