UPDATE (12:42 pm CT): Today's series finale in Tampa between the Rays and Brewers is expected to start at 1:20 pm CT, 40 minutes after the initial start time.

Yesterday was the first home rain delay in Tampa Bay Rays history. Today, we will have the second. As noted by Brewers beat writer for MLB.com, Adam McCalvy, today's game, which was originally scheduled to start at 1:40 pm CT, has been delayed, and no update on when the game might start has been provided at this time.

The Brewers are desperate for a win today after dropping the first two games of the series against Tampa Bay in somewhat tragic fashion. A series that has been highlighted by obstruction calls, weather delays, and bullpen usage finally comes to a close this afternoon, but later than initially expected. With the Brewers traveling to Cleveland after today's game for a three-game set against the Cleveland Guardians that starts Monday night, they are surely hoping today's game starts sooner rather than later.

When today's game does get underway, it will be rookie Chad Patrick on the mound for the Brewers, opposing old friend Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen was dealt to the Rays in the 2021 trade that sent WIlly Adames back to Milwaukee.

Rasmussen, who has been very good for the Rays when healthy, is off to another strong start for Tampa ay in 2025. Despite a 1-3 record, he holds a 3.09 ERA through his first seven games.

Updates on the weather in Tampa and when we can expect this afternoon's game to start will be added directly to this article, so be sure to check in periodically.
