What a weekend for the Milwaukee Brewers.
What began with one of the most dominant performances in Jacob Misiorowski's young career on Friday night continued with an exciting extra-innings win on Saturday and was capped off by a walk-off homer from Brice Turang on Sunday afternoon.
What makes that stretch of games even more impressive is that it came against the American League-leading New York Yankees, who matched up against the Brew Crew for the first time since their emphatic sweep of Milwaukee to start the 2025 season.
This year, however, the story couldn't have been more different. The Brewers, who are playing some of their best baseball of the 2026 season, swept the Bronx Bombers, which is the first time they've done so in a three-game series since the 1989 season. That's right, it's been nearly 40 years since the Brewers accomplished what they did against the Yankees this weekend.
Brewers' first three-game sweep of Yankees since 1989 season marks new peak of 2026 campaign
There's something about the Brewers and Mother's Day. As reported by the great Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920, the Brewers hold the best record on Mother's Day in MLB history.
The Milwaukee Brewers are now 37-22 on Mother’s Day.

That’s the best record in baseball on Mom’s day.
It's not just their ability to pile up wins on Mom's Day, but it's the way the Brewers have done so that makes it so special. Most Brewers fans immediately think of Bill Hall's walk-off homer with a pink bat back in 2006 when they think about the best Mother's Day moments, but there are several other memorable moments that the Brew Crew has put together on the early May holiday through the years.
In 2015, Martin Maldonado came through with a walkoff single against the Chicago Cubs to give the Brewers a victory. Two years later, another Brewers catcher, Manny Piña, crushed a three-run go-ahead homer in the eighth inning against the New York Mets. The following season, 2018, Freddy Peralta made his MLB debut on Mother's Day and struck out 13 batters in an away game against the Colorado Rockies.
Now, Turang has added his name to the surprisingly long list of Brewers who have had memorable moments on Mother's Day. Turang's homer, which came off 2x All-Star David Bednar, was his sixth of the 2026 season and continues what has been an excellent start to the campaign for the Brewers' second baseman.
Turang's two-out ninth inning homer also extended the Brewers' current winning streak to four games, and improved their season record to 22-16. After an off-day tomorrow, the Brewers kick off a home three-game set against the San Diego Padres, who pose another difficult test for the Brew Crew. Milwaukee looks to continue their ongoing winning streak with Brandon Sproat, Jacob Misiorowski, and Kyle Harrison lined up to pitch against the Padres.
