The Milwaukee Brewers' farm system continues to impress. From players earning multiple Player of the Week awards just a month and a half into the season to exciting young prospects backing up breakout seasons with impressive sophomore campaigns, there's always something in the Brewers' minor league system to be excited about.

The organization made several minor-league-related announcements on Monday afternoon, which coincided with several Brewers prospects earning awards for their outstanding recent play, making for an exciting afternoon of minor league news. Let's take a look at some of the most intriguing storylines that emerged.

Three Brewers prospects earn Player of the Week honors

Starting in the Midwest League, the league in which the Brewers' High-A affiliate, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, play, right-handed starter Tyson Hardin earned the Pitcher of the Week Award for the week of May 12-18. Hardin made just one start during the week, but it was a dandy. He tossed a seven-inning complete-game shutout (minor league double headers are only seven innings), allowing just two hits and striking out six in the process. Hardin, a 12th-round pick from a year ago, is off to an incredible start in his first full season of pro ball; he holds a 1.16 ERA through seven starts, with 40 strikeouts and just four walks.

Turning to the Carolina League, the home of the Brewers' Low-A affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats, catching prospect Marco Dinges earned his second Player of the Week Award for his impressive play during the last week. Dinges, who previously earned the honor during the last week of April, went 7-17 this past week, while slugging two home runs and collecting eight RBIs. The 2024 4th round pick is turning heads in the Brewers organization, but more on that later.

Finally, down in the Arizona Complex League, where one of the two Brewers' Rookie Ball affiliates plays, pitcher Ethan Dorchies earned last week's Pitcher of the Week Award. Dorchies made two appearances during the week, both four-inning stints out of the bullpen. He didn't allow a run, surrendered just two hits total, and struck out a combined 13 batters in his two outings. Dorchies, who was a 10th-round pick in last year's draft out of Cary-Grove HS in Illinois, is off to a stellar start in his first season of professional baseball.

Marco Dinges promoted to High-A

Not only did Dinges earn a Player of the Week Award for his eye-popping numbers a week ago, but he was also rewarded with a promotion to High-A, joining the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, as first reported by MLB.com Brewers beat reporter Adam McCalvy on X.

However, it wasn't just his performance in the past week that stuck out — Dinges has been lighting it up down in the Carolina League all year. On the season, the former Florida State Seminole is slashing .353/.500/.576 with 12 extra-base hits and far more walks (21) than strikeouts (14). He has more RBIs than games played and has even swiped four bases through his first 26 games.

Additionally, while it was uncertain how effective Dinges would be behind the dish at the professional level, he has made 16 starts at catcher this season and has thrown out 10 of the 37 runners that have attempted to steal against him.

On a Mudcats team filled with exciting young talent, Dinges still found a way to stand out. Now, he looks to continue his impressive start to the season in Appleton, where he joins a Timber Rattlers team that is in need of a spark.

José Anderson promoted to Low-A

Dinges wasn't the only prospect who was informed that he is advancing in the minor league system on Monday afternoon. As McCalvy also mentioned in his post on X, José Anderson is being promoted to Low-A, where he will join an exciting young Carolina Mudcats roster. Anderson signed with the Brewers as an international free agent back in 2024 in a class that included Jesús Made and Luis Peña. Now Anderson joins those two in Zebulon, North Carolina after tearing the cover off of the ball in the Arizona Complex League.

Though just 10 games with the ACL Brewers, Anderson had seven extra-base hits, 13 RBIs, and a .750 slugging percentage. He also drew eight walks and swiped three bases during that time, while playing a majority of his games in center field.

Anderson currently ranks as the Brewers’ 27th overall prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. However, should he continue to impress in Low-A, the 18-year-old out of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, should quickly ascend the prospect rankings.
