For the first time in 44 years, the World Series is returning to Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Brewers, in historic fashion, swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series and now await the winner of the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.

The American League Championship Series, which was delayed last night due to poor weather in the Cleveland area, currently favors the Guardians by a series score of 2-1 and could last until Tuesday -- five days after the Brewers closed out the Dodgers in the NLCS. Additionally, after last night's postponement, the Guardians and Rays will no longer have the scheduled off-day between Games 5 and 6 should the series last that long. Therefore, there's a possibility that whomever the Brewers face in the World Series will have played four games in four days before having just two days off prior to the start of the Fall Classic.

The World Series is set to begin on Friday, October 23, at American Family Field, which will be the first World Series game played in Milwaukee since October 17, 1982. Game 2 will take place the following night, Saturday, October 24, before the Brewers will travel to either Cleveland or Tampa Bay for Games 3, 4, and, if necessary, 5. Then, should the series advance to a Game 6, the Brewers will return home to Am Fam Field for another Friday night contest. Game 7 of the World Series, if necessary, would be played on Saturday, October 31 -- Halloween night. Here's a full breakdown of the World Series schedule with broadcast details included.

No more afternoon start times. No more late-night West Coast first pitches. One of the underrated benefits of being the only remaining series is that every game of the Fall Classic will start at 7:00 p.m. CT -- technically the first pitch of each game will be at 7:08 p.m. CT.

Not only are those start times a welcome development for Brewers fans who have either had to get off work early or stay up late to watch their team in the postseason in recent years, but all of the Brewers' potential home games during the World Series fall on either a Friday or Saturday night. Not only will that make for a fun environment wherever Brewers fans are watching the World Series, but it also means no conflicts with the two Packers games that will be played on Sunday, October 25, and Thursday, October 29. While Wisconsin sports fans would undoubtedly be locked in on the Brewers' World Series appearance in 44 years regardless of the Packers' schedule, it's nevertheless a positive side effect of this year's Fall Classic schedule.

Normal start times, weekend home games, and no Packers conflicts? What more could Brewers fans want? Milwaukee's first World Series since 1982 would have been electric regardless of the schedule, but this is about as good of a set-up as Brewers fans could have hoped for.
