3. Eric Haase

Now Eric Haase may have only featured in 28 games and registered 62 plate appearances, but he was solid in that time and was much needed for the Brewers from the beginning of July to present. With Gary Sanchez suffering a calf injury, the veteran catcher selected from the minors and registered two hits in his debut with the Crew against the Colorado Rockies.

This season he has hit five home runs with 13 RBIs on a really good slash line of .288/.323/.542. Even since Sanchez returned from his injury, Haase has kept himself in the Majors due to his great ability at the plate and seen Sanchez spending more time at the DH spot. It seems pretty clear Haase will be on the postseason roster but can easily be forgotten how he just didn't play until July 1st and is now a staple in the Brewers team.

Contreras of course deserves lots of plaudits for another good season but a 31-year old catcher hitting that well in just 28 games is a great option for the Brewers to have should Sanchez or whoever at DH struggles or a pinch-hitter is required. Haase had a really good Spring Training and had many people thinking he would make the Majors from the beginning but he only arrived three months in.

Heading into the postseason, he will be a huge option for Murphy to have and could be a sneaky good player for changing a game on it's head if he steps up to the plate. The reason he goes in as an unsung hero is due to his great stats in little game time and he just came and added more to the Brewers offense.

Stay tuned for more Milwaukee Brewers news as they look to end the regular season strong and build towards their National League Wildcard Series in less than a weeks time.
