It's impossible to tell the story of any moment in Milwaukee Brewers history without Bob Uecker. Uecker was the storyteller. He was the voice of those moments, and he always knew how to make those moments hit just right.

On Thursday, the Brewers announced that the beloved Uecker had passed away at the age of 90. For all Brewers fans, as sad as it makes us, it makes us think of the memories we shared with Uecker, too. The memories he helped give to us.

In honor of Uecker, let's reminisce and listen once more to some of the greatest moments and greatest calls in Brewers history.

Uecker calls the Brewers first playoff clincher

"Goodbye Detroit, hello New York"

The Milwaukee Brewers were a struggling franchise the first ten years of their existence. Then in 1981, they clinched a playoff spot for the first time. Rollie Fingers was on the mound for the final out, and the jubilation of the Brewers and Milwaukee fans for their first postseason trip is perfectly expressed by Uecker's call.

Milwaukee, you have a World Series

Bob Uecker only got to deliver this line once, but he absolutely nailed it.

The 1982 Brewers, on the verge of elimination, down 2-0 in the ALCS, then battled back to a Game 5, winning on a Rod Carew groundout to short. Uecker's call of, "The Brewers have won the American League Pennant! Milwaukee, you have a World Series!" has been played on every franchise highlight reel ever since.

The only shame is that he never was able to deliver a line like that again, as the Brewers haven't made it back since.

Team Streak and Easter Sunday

"Holy cow, do you believe it?!"

Team streak in 1987, where the Brewers opened the year with a winning streak for the ages, was in trouble on Easter Sunday. Then, in the ninth inning, home runs by Rob Deer and then Dale Sveum pulled out a miracle victory for the home crowd, taking the winning streak to 12 games (and it eventually went to 13 before the streak was over). Uecker, once again, rose to the occasion with one of the most memorable calls in franchise history.

"He's done it, 3,000 for Robin"

Speaking of all-time Brewers franchise greats, Robin Yount. Yount's entire 20 year career was spent with the Brewers, and of his many memorable, Hall of Fame moments, his 3,000th hit was one of the best.

Simple and special. The excitement of the moment, 3,000 hits for Robin Yount, and then he lets the moment breathe as the roar of the crowd takes over, and you just feel immersed in the moment as if you were there. For fans that were there, it takes you back; even if you didn't hear the call in the moment, Uecker captures it perfectly.

Game 162 in 2008

For the more recent generation of Brewers fans, the big calls that we remember start with the run in 2008, capped off by Ryan Braun, and Uecker's call still gives the goosebumps.

"Whoa, what a finish"

CC Sabathia capping off his seventh complete game of that postseason run, the Brewers winning, and then the Mets loss, which clinched the Brewers' first postseason appearance in 26 years, since that 1982 World Series. Uecker's joy was shared with all of us.

Nyjer Morgan's Game 5 NLDS walk-off

"Morgan a smash up the middle, base hit to center, here comes Gomez, around third, the throw and the Brewers win!"

This was one of the most stressful games of that era. The Brewers were up two games to none in that NLDS against the Diamondbacks, but then Arizona stormed back, forced a Game 5, and it went right down to the wire. The Brewers gave up a run in the ninth, went into extra innings and there, Nyjer Morgan etched his name into Brewers lore -- and also gave us one of Uecker's most memorable calls.

Game 163

"Broxton is there, and they're the champions!"

The 2018 run in September was a special one in Brewers history. Milwaukee chased down the Cubs, forcing a Game 163 in Chicago, which resulted in the Brewers going in and getting a 3-1 victory, all punctuated perfectly by Bob Uecker. When the Brewers became champions of the division, their first crown in seven years, Uecker emphatically brought home the joy that Brewers fans felt in that moment, like a weight had been lifted off our shoulders.

There are too many great moments to include here over a broadcast career that spanned 54 years. Every great moment in Brewers history was called by Uecker. All of our memories growing up, watching this team, Uecker was right there with us for all of them. This doesn't even include the countless stories Uecker would tell, his quick witted jokes making us laugh while getting through the long slog of a season. There's way too many of those to count.

Uecker was a national treasure, and he was ours. He was Milwaukee's. He was the Brewers. The heart and soul of this franchise, and summer in Wisconsin will never be the same without him.
