The minor league baseball season is coming to a close, and just one of the Milwaukee Brewers' affiliates is preparing for what is hopefully a deep playoff run. The Biloxi Shuckers have revamped their roster ahead of the postseason, adding top prospects Jesús Made and Bishop Letson to their roster over the last week. They are set to take on the Montgomery Biscuits in the Southern League Division Series (semifinals) beginning next Tuesday.

However, while the Brewers' top prospects may be wrapping up the end of the regular season, several of them will compete in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) this offseason, giving Brewers fans another look at some of the exciting talent climbing through their farm system. The AFL is an offseason prospect league allowing players who missed considerable time due to injury or are in need of further development before making the jump to the next level, a chance to compete against some of the league's next best players. According to the AFL's website, "Forty-one percent of all players named to the 2025 MLB All Star Game in Atlanta are AFL alums."

A season ago, then-New York Yankees' prospect Caleb Durbin turned heads with his impressive AFL performance and was subsequently traded to Milwaukee in the Devin Williams trade. As such, the release of the AFL rosters is a notable development as it offers insight into who the organization believes are some of their most intriguing prospects.

Three MLB Pipeline Top 30 Brewers prospects to participate in the Arizona Fall League in 2025

The Brewers will send eight prospects to the Arizona Fall League this year, as is standard for most MLB squads. Of the eight players, five are pitchers and three are position players. Here's a breakdown of each of the two groups with the age and minor league level:

Pitchers:
1. RHP Brett Wichrowski - 23 - Double-A
2. RHP Edwin Jimenez - 23 - High-A
3. LHP Anthony Flores - 20 - High-A
4. RHP Michael Fowler - 23 - Low-A
5. LHP Jesus Broca - 21 - Double-A

Position players:
1. C Marco Dinges - 22 - High-A
2. 1B/3B Luke Adams - 21 - Double-A
3. 2B Josh Adamczewski - 20 - High-A

While right-hander Brett Wichrowski has spent some time on the MLB Pipeline's Top 30 prospects list, as it currently stands only Marco Dinges (10), Luke Adams (8), and Josh Adamczewski (13) are the only members of both the Top 30 list and the AFL roster.

Marco Dinges

Dinges, who the Brewers drafted in the fourth round of last year's MLB Draft, has been one of the organization's breakout prospects of 2025. He began the season with the Low-A Carolina Mudcats and slashed a ridiculous .353/.500/.576 with 12 extra-base hits in 26 games. His Low-A performance led to an early promotion to High-A on May 20, where Dinges hasn't skipped a beat. Since joining the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the 22-year-old catcher out of Florida State, posted a .854 OPS with 10 homers in 51 games.

While Dinges did miss some time this season, meaning his inclusion on the AFL roster could simply be to get more reps, it's also possible that the Brewers see him as their Double-A catcher next season, and just need a strong AFL performance to confirm their beliefs.

Luke Adams

Adams is another excellent candidate for the AFL as he's logged just 68 games this season, and is a player that the Brewers have high hopes for. After three consecutive seasons with an OPS over .800 in his first three years of professional baseball, Adams began the 2025 season with the Biloxi Shuckers and remains there as the season comes to a close. Adams continues to show an unparalleled ability to get on base. Ironically, his .421 on-base percentage this season, is actually a decrease from the .443 mark that he posted a season ago. There's also power in his profile, as Adams still slugged 11 homers this season despite missing most of the season.

With Adams being Rule-5 eligible after the 2026 season, the next year will be especially important for his future in the Brewers' organization. Giving him more opportunities to prove himself, by sending him to the AFL, should give the Brewers a better idea of how they want to proceed with their No. 8 ranked prospect, but if all goes well, it's possible he opens the 2026 season in Triple-A.

Josh Adamczewski

Adamczewski is another intriguing young prospect who has missed a considerable amount of time with injuries during his first two seasons of professional baseball. As such, getting him some extra reps in the AFL this year makes a lot of sense. While injuries have limited his sample size, Adamczewski has absolutely raked when he's been on the field. In 46 games for the Carolina Mudcats this season, he posted an impressive slash line of .359/.459/.569 and collected more RBI (38) than strikeouts (37). He's rocketed up the prospect rankings lists this season and is quickly becoming one of the Brewers' most exciting young talents.

It's unlikely that Adamczewski begins his 2026 season anywhere other than High-A, where he will continue to suit up for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, so his inclusion on the AFL roster is more focused around getting him more reps, rather than as a means to promote him to the next level prior to next season. That said, with a strong showing in the AFL and a solid start in High-A next year, Adamczewski could be looking at another early-season promotion in 2026.
