Believe it or not, the Milwaukee Brewers 2024 regular season has come and gone already. This year's team finished with 93 wins, won the National League Central division, and has their sights set on the Wild Card Series that is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 1.
Throughout the course of the six month season the team excelled at playing hard each night, doing all the little things very well, and they got contributions from numerous amounts of players. Here we will take a look at both team and player rankings in the National League at season's end.
2024 Milwaukee Brewers team rankings
Despite losing or not having key players such as Christian Yelich, Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, and Robert Gasser this year the Brewers thrived both at the plate and on the mound.
The Brewers finished with the fourth most runs scored (777), sixth in hits (1359), second in triples (33), second in walks (597), second in stolen bases (217), fifth in team batting average (.248), third in team on-base percentage (.326), and sixth in team on-base plus slugging (.729).
On the mound, Milwaukee finished with a 3.65 team ERA. Their starters posted a 4.09 ERA, but their relievers were the best in the National League as they had a 3.11 ERA. As a team, they accumulated 14 shutouts (third most), 53 saves (2nd most), and owned the fourth best opponent batting average against (.237) and WHIP (1.23).
Willy Adames, William Contreras, and Brice Turang all were ranked near the top in a few offensive categories
From an individual player standpoint the Brewers had three who stood out. Willy Adames finished second in the National League in runs batted in with 112 and 10th in runs scored with 93.
William Contreras finished 11th in runs batted in (92), seventh in doubles (37), fifth in walks (79), sixth in runs (99), and sixth in hits (167).
Lastly Brice Turang finished third in stolen bases with 50.
Brewers rookies Tobias Myers and Jackson Chourio made some noise during the 2024 season
Among qualified National League rookies Tobias Myers finished with the third lowest ERA (3.00) as only Paul Skenes and Shota Imanaga posted better ERA's.
On the other hand Jackson Chourio finished second in runs (80), third in hits (145), third in doubles (29), third in home runs (21), second in runs batted in (79), third in stolen bases (22), third in batting average (.275), and third in on-base plus slugging percentage (.791).
It was an unexpectedly great regular season for the Brewers club. Now their challenge is to turn that into postseason success.
