Since the Golden Age of Milwaukee Brewers baseball began in 2018, the Brew Crew has taken home at least one of each of Major League Baseball's major end-of-the-year awards. Christian Yelich was the NL MVP back in 2018, Corbin Burnes won the NL Cy Young in 2021, Devin Williams was the NL's Rookie of the Year in the shortened 2020 season, Williams and Josh Hader combined for five NL Reliever of the Year awards during the span, Pat Murphy won NL Manager of the Year in 2024, and the Brewers have taken home three Gold Gloves and four Silver Slugger Awards during the stretch.

A season ago, just one Brewer took home Louisville Slugger's coveted Silver Slugger Award despite three players being nominated for the award. William Contreras, Willy Adames, and Jackson Chourio were all finalists at their respective positions, but Contreras and his 2024 season that landed him 5th in NL MVP voting, was the only one to take home the elusive silver bat.

This season, FanSided, the parent company of Reviewing the Brew, has partnered with Louisville Slugger to exclusively announce both the finalists and winners for the Silver Slugger Awards. The finalists will be announced on FanSided's "The Baseball Insiders" YouTube channel on October 22 at 11:00 a.m. EST for the NL and October 23 at the same time for the AL. The winners will be announced, also on "The Baseball Insiders" YouTube channel on November 6 at 6:00 p.m. EST for the NL and November 7 at 6:00 p.m. EST for the AL.

With the announcement of the finalists just around the corner, let's rank the three Brewers who have the best chance of being nominated for a Silver Slugger Award for their impressive offensive performances during the 2025 season.

The 3 Brewers with the best chance of being finalists for a Silver Slugger Award in 2025

1. 2B Brice Turang

What a year it was at the plate for Turang. After taking a "quantum leap" in 2024, transforming from a glove-first second baseman to a true everyday starter, Turang took an ever farther step forward in the 2025 season, most notably in the power department. After a total of 13 HR in his first two seasons in MLB, Turang slugged 18 homers in 2025, raising his slugging percentage from .349 in 2024 to .435 this season. He added 28 doubles and two triples, giving him 48 total extra-base hits on the year, while driving in 81 runs despite spending a significant amount of time as the Brewers' leadoff hitter.

Turang's biggest competition for the NL Silver Slugger Award at second base is likely to come from Ketel Marte of the Arizona Diamondbacks or Brendan Donovan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Those three players possessed the highest wRC+ at the second base position in the NL this season with Marte leading the pack at 135 (100 is league average), while Donovan (128) and Turang (123 ) trailed closely behind. However, of that group, it's notable that Turang played 150 games at second base in 2025, while Marte spent a considerable amount of time as the D-backs' DH and Donovan logged was limited to just 97 games at the keystone position while being asked to cover innings at both shortstop and left field as well.

Marte led the group in homers, but Turang set the pace for runs, RBI, doubles, and walks at the position. Marte won the award in 2024, but the Brewers' breakout second baseman, Turang, could certainly prevent him from defending his Silver Slugger title in 2025.

2. DH Christian Yelich

Let the recency bias melt away, and you are left remembering that Christian Yelich had a darn good 2025 season at the plate. In his best offensive performance since his 2018-19 run that should have netted him two MVP awards, but easily earned him two Silver Slugger Awards, Yelich slugged 29 homers and drove in 103 runs, the latter was good enough for fourth in the NL. Yelich added 21 doubles to his stat line in 2025, giving him a total of 50 extra-base hits.

The good news for Yelich is that he qualifies for the DH category when it comes to the NL Silver Slugger Awards, and just two players clearly had better years at the plate as DHs for their respective NL teams. The bad news is that those two players, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies, are expected to be the two frontrunners for the NL MVP this year.

Therefore, while Yelich has a great shot to be a finalist for the NL Silver Slugger at the DH position, with his only real competition for the third finalist spot being a down season from Atlanta Braves slugger Marcel Ozuna, it's nearly impossible for him to come home with his third Silver Slugger Award, and first as a DH, this year.

3. C William Contreras

By the impressively high standards that Contreras set in his first two seasons in Milwaukee, 2025 was a down year for the Brewers' backstop, who plays more than any catcher in baseball. After back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards in 2023 and 2024, Contreras took a small step backwards in 2025, but a strong month of August keeps his name in the running among the NL's best catchers. Contreras still slugged 17 HR, 28 doubles, and collected 76 RBI during his "down" season.

Even still, Contreras faces an uphill battle when it comes to winning his third consecutive Silver Slugger Award at the catcher position in the NL, with names like Will Smith, Drake Baldwin, and Hunter Goodman all having better seasons on paper. Contreras' best chance is voters sympathizing with the fact that he played 128 games behind the dish, while the other three aforementioned names each failed to log 100. Pair that with the fact that Contreras played through a fractured finger on his glove hand throughout the year, and his 2025 season becomes even more impressive.

While it's more likely that one of the other three names listed will take home the coveted honor in 2025, especially since Contreras has won it each of the last two years, it's certainly not out of the question that the Brewers' catcher and team leader sees his name among the finalists.
