The Milwaukee Brewers' farm system is overflowing with infield talent. From No. 1 overall MLB prospect Jesús Made to a trio of top infield prospects in Cooper Pratt, Luis Peña, and Jett Williams to recent first-round pick Andrew Fischer, there is no shortage of infield talent currently rostered on the Brewers' minor league affiliates.
However, while the five names listed above understandably garner plenty of publicity, one intriguing name that isn't talked about nearly enough is Brady Ebel. The Brewers drafted Ebel, son of Los Angeles Dodgers' third-base coach Dino Ebel, with the 32nd overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft after he competed for Milwaukee's Area Code team -- a team that fellow high school draft pick Brice Turang once played for.
Ebel was one of three players from Corona High School in Southern California selected in the first 32 picks of last year's draft, with his teammates Seth Hernandez and Billy Carlson landing with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox, respectively. After officially signing with the Brewers and forgoing his commitment to Louisiana State University, Ebel was assigned to Low-A for the remainder of the 2025 season -- an aggressive assignment for a player just out of high school ball.
Though his professional career got off to a slow start, Ebel did put together a solid week-long stretch at the end of August last year despite being one of the youngest players at the Low-A level. This year, back in Low-A with the Wilson Warbirds, Ebel once again got off to a slow start, but has since turned things around and is starting to flash the potential that led the Brewers to draft him with the 32nd pick last year.

Brady Ebel wins Carolina League Player of the Week as Wilson Warbirds' offense starts to heat up
Ebel, who currently checks in as the No. 12-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline's list of the top 30 prospects in the Brewers' farm system, was slashing just .172/.331/.226 on May 5. At the time, he had just four extra base hits in 93 at-bats on the season. However, since that day three weeks ago, Ebel has seen his numbers steadily rise, and entering play on May 26, he's now carrying a much-improved .242/.388/.362 slash line.
A large reason for the uptick in Ebel's numbers was a monster stretch of games that the 18-year-old shortstop put together last week. In five games, Ebel collected nine hits, including two doubles, a triple, and two homers, seven RBI, and three stolen bases. He led the Warbirds to four wins in their five-game series against the Delmarva Shorebirds, the Baltimore Orioles' Low-A affiliate. For his efforts, Ebel was named the Carolina League Player of the Week. Ebel becomes the second Warbird to win the honor this year, joining Handelfry Encarnacion, who earned the award back in early May.
Ebel isn't the only member of the Warbirds' offense to turn around a slow start. In fact, pretty much the entire Wilson offense got off to a slow start in 2026, but in recent weeks, the lineup has really picked up steam. In addition to Ebel and Encarnacion, Jose Anderson continues to rack up the home runs despite maintaining a sub-.200 batting average and an unsustainable strikeout rate, Ryan Mills and Tyler Rodriguez are both off to strong starts after their delayed debuts in 2026, and Jayden Fielder, son of Prince Fielder, has a 1.058 OPS in the month of May.
In a matter of weeks, the Warbirds' offense has gone from one of the more disappointing pieces of the Brewers' farm system to one of the most exciting.
