2 Brewers prospects who could be next to debut following Jacob Misiorowski's promotion

With Jacob Misiorowski giving Milwaukee Brewers fans a look into the future, these two could be the next Brewers prospects to make their MLB debuts in 2025.

The highly anticipated MLB debut of 23-year-old starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski finally happened, and it did not disappoint. Misiorowski got the call from Triple-A Nashville and made his first big league start last Thursday. He tossed five no-hit innings against the St. Louis Cardinals, striking out five batters on 86 pitches, before leaving the game with cramps in his right leg that don't seem to be of any concern.

Misiorowski recorded 14 pitches that hit triple digits on the radar gun, topping out at 102.2 mph. He also flashed a 96 mph slider that looked completely unhittable, and confused Statcast's pitch tracking technology into thinking it was a cut fastball.

It was a great day to be a Brewers fan. Watching Misiorowski pitch is a glimpse into the future of Brewers baseball. But now that he's here, the attention turns to who's next. Here are two Brewers prospects who could make their MLB debut at some point this season, joining Miz on the big league roster and encouraging Brewers fans about the future of their ball club.

C Jeferson Quero

Don't be surprised if 22-year-old catcher Jeferson Quero is in the big leagues before the end of 2025. With William Contreras and Eric Haase on the 26-man roster, the Brewers don't exactly have a need for an additional catcher this year, but Milwaukee still might want to get Quero some experience at the major league level to get him ready for 2026. He's the No. 2 prospect in the organization and the No. 38 prospect in all of baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

Quero was set to make a major league impact in 2024 before he suffered a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder during his first game in Triple-A and missed the entire season. He recently returned from the injury and is getting back up to speed with Triple-A Nashville. Thankfully, he has looked okay behind the plate and still appears to have his plus-plus arm strength and elite blocking ability.

Quero is hitting .273 in 33 at-bats since re-joining Nashville. While his bat should heat up with more time, his real MLB impact - at least immediately - is going to be on the defensive side of things. Once he gets some International League at-bats under his belt, I think we get out first look at Quero in Milwaukee before the current season finishes.

1B Ernesto Martinez Jr.

While Quero is the No. 2 prospect in the organization with a bunch of hype surrounding his eventual MLB debut, Ernesto Martinez Jr. is a more under-the-radar Brewers prospect who didn't garner much attention until last season. That said, he could still have an exciting impact on Milwaukee's playoff push in 2025.

Martinez is the No. 30 prospect in the Brewers organization; he barely cracks MLB Pipeline's list, as a first baseman in Triple-A, that is just days away from his 26th birthday. He has been in Milwaukee's minor league system since 2017, but he had never played in Triple-A until the 2025 season. Martinez's eventual MLB debut has been a long time coming, but it could be right around the corner.

Martinez is a hulking 6-foot-6 with light tower power that should lead to more home runs than it has so far in the minor leagues. That said, his exit velocities are elite, he is making loud contact regularly, and he is cutting down on his chase rate.

In 39 games with the Nashville Sounds this season, Martinez has five home runs and an .820 OPS. He has 28 walks, which has helped his OBP hover around .400 all year.

This call-up could happen any day now, especially with the recent rumors of a Jake Bauers trade. When it does eventually happen, it will be an exciting MLB debut, as Martinez's game not only features impressive power, but also unexpected athleticism and sneaky base-running ability.

While he might be on the older side for a prospect, Martinez is just a few adjustments away from having legitimate 30-homer potential in the big leagues. It would be intriguing to see how his thunderous and high-upside bat plays in the Brewers' lineup this season.
