Are The Brewers Going To Lose To Much?

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

With every off-season you always want to try and make your ball club better. The question for the Brewers is how much talent will this cost them. J. J. Hardy is most likely to be traded. His stock has fallen, but teams are still very interested in him. Trading him away I think will be a big mistake. He is talented and losing him will hurt. Felipe Lopez will not be brought back and that also is a shame. The Brewers have penciled in Rickie Weeks at second base which means they really have no room for Lopez. The shame [...]

Gallardo, Fielder Win Writers Awards

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Prince Fielder was voted as the Milwaukee Brewers MVP by the Milwaukee Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. This award should really come as no surprise as Fielder was the best player on the team. He tied for the NL league in RBI’s and almost won the Home Run Crown as well. Fielder deserved this award. Now giving Yovani Gallardo the award for the Most Valuable Pitcher. He edged out Trevor Hoffman for the award. Now I personally think that Hoffman should have won this award. He was the Most Valuable Pitcher by far. Without him the Brewers [...]

2010 Will It Be Any Different For Brewers Fans?

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Brewers fan probably are hoping for better things in 2010 and you really cannot blame them. 2009 was a very rough year considering high expectations were expected and they could not reach them. Pitching was the main problem and that will be something that the Brewers must address. The biggest problem they have is there is not a lot of free agents on the market and the ones that are will command top dollar. The Brewers have been known as a team that does not like to pay their players what there worth. Take Prince Fielder for example it took [...]

Ben Sheets A Brewer Again?

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Would Ben Sheets consider the Brewers again? It’s possible. After sitting out all of 2009 Ben Sheets is ready to show people he is ready to go for 2010.  Sheets was one of the best pitchers in baseball during his time with the Brewers even though he did have some issues with injuries during his time as a Brewer. Sheets should have plenty of suitors if he is healthy. Some of the teams that will be interested are the Brewers, Rangers, and maybe the Red Sox. If  Sheets can prove he is healthy he could have many more suitors. Sheets [...]

Casey McGehee deserves A Shot To Start

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Out of all the players that the Milwaukee Brewers picked up and made a good contribution Casey McGehee deserves a shot. He did much better then I ever thought he would. A cast-off from the Chicago Cubs McGehee showed a good glove and a very good bat as well. McGehee batted .301 with 16 home runs and 66 RBI’s in just 116 games.  He was a bargain at 400,000 salary and is just 27 years old and has a lot of upside and the Brewers need a good third basemen. This has been a spot the Brewers have struggled and [...]

Brewers Add Pitching Coach To Help Staff

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rick Peterson has his hands full with his latest job. Peterson will take over one of the worse pitching staffs in the Major Leagues. This is the third pitching coach the Brewers have had this year. Peterson has a reputation though of getting pitchers to perform at a much higher level and stay injury free. To be honest if he can turn this pitching staff around he is a miracle worker. His most recent job was with the New York Mets in 2008 where he was fired along with Willie Randolph.  He also knows Ken Macha well from their time [...]

Corey Hart Another Tough Decision For Management

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Milwaukee Brewers in the off-season have some tough decisions and another one of those will be Corey Hart. On the outside it looks like a no brainer for management as Hart was injured so let him have his job back. Corey has produced some good numbers in his time in Milwaukee and a injury should not cost you your spot. Now the flip side to this coin is Jody Gerut who played very well in his place and maybe a guy you want out there instead. Gerut has shown to be able to hit the ball and is a [...]

Is J.J. Hardy Days Numbered In Milwaukee

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Will the Brewers try to keep J.J. Hardy or will he be another player who they let slip through and get away. Hardy who started shortstop this year and struggled and was sent to the minors and then eventually brought back up. Many people including Hardy thought his contract had something to do with his demotion, but we will never really know. The truth is J.J. Hardy struggled this year which is a surprise. The last two years Hardy had hit 50 home runs and was an good shortstop. I do not know what happen to him this year as [...]

Rickie Weeks or Felipe Lopez Who Will The Brewers Choose

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

According to various sources Doug Melvin has penciled in Rickie Weeks as the starting second baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers. This puts to rest the thought that maybe Felipe Lopez did enough to challenge for the job next year. Both are talented players and Lopez did a great job filling in for Weeks who got hurt this year. The main problem recently for Rickie Weeks is it seems he gets hurt a lot and his bat at times struggles which is something I worry about. If a player cannot stay healthy then really what good are they. Now the Brewers [...]

Brewers Have Many Questions To Answer In Off-Season

AUTHOR: | IN: Brewers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Milwaukee brewers have so many questions to answer in the off-season that could change the Brewers roster in many different ways. First up what will the Brewers do about the pitching problem they have. The reality is there really is not a lot of pitchers on the open market that would fit into their plans. This means the only option you really have is to trade for some and that means packaging some of their current players. Prince Fielder is one player who has been talked about being moved if the right offer comes a long. I hope they [...]
