For the Milwaukee Brewers the Pittsburgh Pirates series was huge this past weekend and yesterday they finished the job with a 4-1 victory over the Pirates who struggle at Miller Park. For the Pirates it was their 21st straight loss at Miller Park and it seems more mental than anything else. This year in Pittsburgh they played well against the Brewers and was surprised that the Brewers swept them over the weekend.
Jeff Suppan pitched well yesterday going 6.0 innings giving up eight hits, but allowing just one earned one. It was one of his better pitching performances in a long [...]

The Milwaukee Brewers just seem to have the Pittsburgh Pirates number and yesterday they were able to send that streak to 20 straight games with a 7-3 win over the Pirates. I really cannot explain why the Pirates struggle at Miller Park becomes lord knows every other team that has come in recently has seen success against the Brewers. For the Pirates it seems more of a mental thing, but the Milwaukee Brewers will take it.
Yovani Gallardo grabbed the win for the Brewers even though he only went just five innings. He did strike out seven guys and only walked [...]
Now I know the Milwaukee Brewers have struggled most of the year, but one team the Brewers play well against at Miller Park is the Pittsburgh Pirates. That tradition continued as the Brewers beat the Pirates by a score of 8-6 and notch their 19th straight over the Pirates at Miller Park.
The Brewers got started early in the game with a five run first inning with Prince Fielder going deep for his 36th home run of the year. Ryan Braun and Jason Bourgeois also hit home runs to help the Brewers get the win. The Brewers have a good offense [...]
The nightmare season has continued for the Milwaukee Brewers and it does not look like that will end anytime soon. Yesterday, the Brewers jumped out to a early lead and it looked like Dave Bush was going to cruise and it all came crashing down. The Reds came back for a 8-5 victory and a series sweep over the Brewers.
Dave Bush looked good in the first four innings, but after that the wheels feel off the wagon for Bush. In total Bush went 4.2 innings giving up five earned runs and took the loss. The bullpen stepped right up and [...]
Now that the Brewers have found themselves basically out of the playoffs it is time to start reshaping their roster for 2010. There are many orders of business that Doug Melvin should put on his must do list. One of the first things is to get Prince Fielder signed up long term. Fielder has proven over the last few years that he is a player that will be around for some time. Prince is just 25 years old and just going to get better over time. Felipe Lopez is another guy the Brewers really need to sign long term. He [...]
The bumbling Brewers keep finding ways to lose and last night was no exception. The Milwaukee Brewers had three errors yesterday and the Cincinnati Reds did what they needed to do to hand the Brewers another extra inning loss this time by a 4-3 count in ten innings. For the Brewer fans this should not be much of a shock from a team that has played like a joke the last few weeks.
Braden Looper started the game and actually pitched well going 6.0 innings giving up just two earned runs in the game. The bullpen came in and pitched better [...]
It seems the same old broken record is be played for the Milwaukee Brewers as the bullpen could not hold the Reds when it counted and lost 8-6 in 13 innings. You knew this had to happen with all the innings the bullpen has logged in recently. The sad part is the Brewers made a heck of a comeback in the bottom of the ninth by scoring five runs to send it into extra innings only to lose it in 13.
The Brewers started Jeff Suppan who gave up four earned runs and probably did not do to bad considering it [...]
In day games the Milwaukee Brewers have struggle this year with just a 15-25 record. With a afternoon start you really did not know what to expect from this team as one game they play well one game they do not. The Brewers used the home run and got some good pitching from Yovani Gallardo for a 7-1 rout of the Washington Nationals.
Yovani Gallardo started for the Brewers and gave up just one run on four hits in five innings of work. The bullpen came in and did a fine job of shutting the door. The bad thing about Brewers [...]
Milwaukee Brewer pitching has been very giving this year and yesterday was no exception. Starter Manny Parra yielded three home runs and five earned runs and the Brewers lost to the Nationals by a score of 8-3. Just another loss in a dismal season that has seen the Brewers go from contenders to pretenders.
Parra has pitched well for most of the season and especially lately, but yesterday he did not have anything working for himself. An error by shortstop Alcides Escobar hurt Parra in the first inning and lead to three unearned runs. The bullpen came in and mopped up, [...]
After Mike Cameron help the Brewers build a lead he also had to help them get it back after they blew the lead. Cameron had four hits last night in helping the Brewers make it two in a row over the Washington Nationals by a 11-9 score.
The game started out well for the Brewers as they were up 7-2, but the lead would not last as in the third in the Nationals came back with four runs of their own. It was a back and forth battle all night long it seemed. Mike Cameron was the hitting star for the [...]
